Although I own a ridiculous amount of clothing, accessories and footwear you can guarantee that each and every morning I'll wake up, go to my wardrobe and stare blankly thinking "oh my god I have nothing to wear".

I think the reason for this is because I have too much, and its all crammed in to a small space so I can't analyse what I have efficiently to be able to put together a decent outfit on a morning. I also seem to have become stuck in a rut, only buying things that I'm comfortable with wearing, and therefore being apprehensive to try new styles. These problems bring me on to today's post about my fashion resolutions for 2015...

Quality Over Quantity!
I've been saying this for years, but bad habits and all that.... So instead of searching through the sale rails all the time and buying whatever is cheapest I should invest in some staple pieces that I love. Hopefully they will last me throughout the years to come, and I'd be able to wear them in the summer months and then layer them up during the winter months. Ideally I'd love to have what Gok Wan refers to as a "Capsule Wardrobe" but in reality that's never going to happen lol ;)

Wear Lighter Colours - Ditch The Black!
Since I've moved out and started doing my own washing, I've noticed that I never have to put a "light" wash in the washing machine, because 99% of my wardrobe is black or dark colours. I don't know when this happened, but over time it appears I've become more comfortable wearing black and deep shades of clothing (in particular navy & burgundy). I'd like to start by wearing some pastel/neutral shades and then move onto brighter colours and bold dresses in the summer months!

Wear More Shaped/Fitted Clothing
I'm a sucker for over sized clothing - give me my leggings, a big woolly jumper and a puffy coat any day! Sometimes though, I feel like I'm stuck in my comfort zone and this makes me lazy. I feel like my job is partly to blame for this, I work in a very small office, by small - I mean 3 of us. And its always cold, and dirty, because its adjoined to a factory so no point wearing nice clothes as they just get ruined or I'm froze all day lol. But this year(probably when it gets warmer) I'd like to start wearing pale blue jeans and trousers instead of my usual black leggings, fitted/styled blazers instead of my parka jackets and boyfriend cardigans, and finally pretty blouses instead of stretchy t-shirts.

Accessorize!!
I already own plenty of gorgeous accessories, including some lovely statement necklaces, pretty rings, and earrings, not to mention all the handbags I own haha! But what I need is to set aside time out of my morning routine to accessorize, instead of throwing together my outfit, rushing to do my makeup and then running out the door! As we all know, accessories make your outfit look complete, and can literally change the whole look of your outfit - sometimes changing your day "at the office" into "night on the town".

Kick the Ugg's
I think this is the case for a lot of people at the moment, especially in the UK where it is cold and raining most days... But I literally live in my "Ugg" boots, so when it comes to the warmer months I struggle to choose shoes to wear. I'd like to get some stylish ankle boots for the winter months and then switch to wearing some pretty sandals and dolly shoes in the summer!

So, following on from my last blog post about my highlights of 2014, I am really looking forward to living out my 2015, and hopefully sticking to these fashion resolutions ;)

  1. These are fantastic resolutions! I love the idea of quality over quantity....that is something I really struggle with. The idea of having 10 shirts I love as opposed to 1 that will last me ages is so tempting. I am officially adding that to my resolutions list as well!
