I'm the kind of person, who never gets to see any sunlight... due to the fact I work in an office all week, and then as soon as the weekend arrives, when I might actually get to step outside, the lovely British weather seems to turn on me, and tip it down with rain! This means that I am ghostly pale pretty much all year round, and have to rely on fake tan, bronzers and deeper foundations to make me look even half-alive!

Anyway, I was recently sent the Gorgeous Bronze Salon Tan At Home* kit to try out. Which I received shade Light to Medium, and it claims to contain 10 applications worth of product. Now I'm no stranger to fake tan, but as I normally use mousse type tans with a pump mechanism and tanning mitt, this one was a little out of my comfort zone. It comes in a large 266ml bottle, with a separate "spray" mechanism top which you should attach before use. Inside the box were also 5 plastic gloves to aid application.

Before I apply fake tan, I usually exfoliate my skin wearing exfoliating gloves, and using a good body scrub (I usually use Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub) paying particular attention to super dry patches of skin(elbows and knees) to remove any dry patches and dead skin which the tan would cling to. I then add a little moisturiser to the dry patches, and rub in well.

It is recommended that you use this tan by spraying onto your whole body using a sideways motion, holding approx 30cm away, and then use one of the plastic gloves provided to blend the tan evenly if required. You can spray each arm and leg separately and blend for better results. You can also use this on your face... close your eyes and hold the bottle 30cm away and spray once before rubbing in. To gain the best results you should try to leave the product on the skin for a minimum of 2 hours, up to 8 hours before showering.

I followed the above application instructions, and found the spray top worked really well to give off an even mist of product, although I should suggest doing this in a bathroom where you can wipe walls/floors clean as the product does tend to end up getting everywhere! Bearing in mind how pale I am right now, this tan turned out very well! In other words I don't look like an Oompa Loompa and instead I have a nice golden tone to my skin, nothing too dark, but just perfect for a healthy, glowing appearance. I did find though, that I preferred the effect after I had showered the morning after applying, as this looked more even and not too obvious.

The Gorgeous Bronze Salon Tan At Home can be bought from Semichem for just £7.99! If you ask me, that's a pretty good price for 10 applications in the comfort of your own home.
