I love pastel nail colours, especially during the spring and summer because they seem to make my skin appear more tanned, and I really wish I was more tanned haha! Anyways, I recently got some gorgeous new pastel polishes to try out, in the form of Essie Romper Room* and Essie Mint Candy Apple*. These were kindly supplied by NailPolish.co.uk which is a fairly new website stocking polishes from a vast range of top brands including Barry M, China Glaze, Essie, Sally Hansen & Tanya Burr.
Romper Room is one of the part of the Spring 2014 collection, and is a beautifully chic pink/nude pastel creme colour. It's possibly the palest pink polish that I own - given this, it did take 3 coats to achieve a good and even coverage, but the overall look was totally worth the extra effort and drying time. Not to mention, Essie's brushes are a dream to use to make application quick and easy.
I recall Mint Candy Apple being a huge favourite amongst bloggers a year or so ago, and I really wanted it back then, just never got round to actually purchasing it! This polish, to me, is the perfect definition of mint. It has the perfect balance between green and blue, and has a creamy finish. This particular shade took just two coats to achieve an even and opaque coverage, which again was made light work of by the application brush.
Overall these make an ideal pair of spring/summer nail colours and compliment most if not all skin tones and colours. I can see me alternating these colours on my nails non-stop this summer!
What are your favourite Essie shades at the moment?
