The same goes for eye make up as it does for the rest of your face, you should always begin with a good base to help get your makeup looking its best, and keep it that way throughout the day. I've used eye primer as part of my daily make up routine for a good few years now since discovering the MUA Professional Eye Primer, and to be honest for the bargain price of this, it works brilliantly and I've never thought to try anything different. That is, up until I received a sample of the Benefit Stay Dont Stray Eyeshadow/Concealer Primer in a Birchbox a month or two ago.

It is a dual action primer, for use all around the eyes to help both your under eye concealer and your eyeshadows stay put! The primer is creamy in texture, easily blendable to create a smooth, flawless base, and has a hydrating formula containing vitamin C & E to fight signs of ageing. All this goodness for your skin whilst the product works to keep your concealer in place and keep your eyeshadows looking vibrant and preventing crease lines.

Stay Dont Stray currently comes in two shades, Light/Medium, which is the one I received and is perfect for my skin tone, as you can see in the above swatches, it blends beautifully and looks so natural, and a second shade Medium/Deep. According to Benefit Cosmetics website, the full size light shade comes with a pump applicator and the deeper shade comes with a wand applicator, not too sure why - I personally think the wand would be best for both!?

The primer is applied by dotting 3 times under your eyes then blending, before applying 3 dots on the eyelids and blending. You can then go ahead and apply your concealer and eyeshadows as normal. (For reference, I don't have oily lids, but if I don't wear primer, my eyeshadows do fall and settle in the crease of my lid) I can vouch for the fact that it keeps my eyeshadows looking great, all day. I've put makeup on before I go to work on a morning, done an 8 hour office shift, then gone out for a meal or something on the evening and my eye makeup still looks intact when I get home. I don't really use a concealer, but I imagine it would have the same effect. I have however found it can also act as a concealer in itself, for example if you're going for a "no make up" make up look because it lightens dark circles and evens out your skin tone/discolouration.

As I mentioned, I've only received a small sample, but the full size is 10ml, and it will set you back £20.50. Which unfortunately is a little pricey for my personal budget, because my usual primer is only £2.50 - I'm a total cheap skate to be honest. But if I could afford to buy this again, I definitely would, and I would definitely recommend it!

I just can't contain myself when a new Barry M nail polish is released, I find myself instantly drawn to the nail polish aisle and before I know it I'm walking out the store with yet another un-needed nail polish purchase, crazy! Well, this was precisely the case when I saw this new limited edition polish which has been released in celebration of Superdrugs 50th Birthday! The polish is bursting with white, pink and purple hex shaped glitters in all different sizes, which are suspended in a beautiful sheer hot pink base. You can use this polish alone, in the photo's above I've showed the effect with 1 and 2 coats or you could use it as a top coat, I've lined up a few of my favourite Barry M shades alongside it.  The formula is easy to use and quick drying, the glitters spread evenly without too much faffing around, although you may need to use a top coat to prevent any from sticking out of the polish and leaving rough bits. As always with any glitter polishes, its a nightmare to remove, but if you use the foil trick, you'll be fine. This is a limited edition polish, so if you wanna get your hands on it, I would advise doing so pretty soon!

I love skater dresses, and I seem to find myself wearing them all the time, whether its for work, a casual day's shopping, or even a night out, they're so versatile and you can dress them up or down with accessories depending on the look you're going for. I recently received this pretty floral print skater dress from Wearall, and although I would have preferred the pink dress(silly me forgot to specify which colour I wanted) I absolutely love the style of it. Personally I think this is more of a going out/work dress, I couldn't think of a way to dress it down.

The dress itself is of good quality and is quite stretchy, the sizes are accurate, I'm wearing a size 12 here. The material is stretchy and thick, and is of a decent, comfortable length! The black wet look side panels on the shoulders and around the bust/waist area offer a thinning illusion for your upper body! The dress includes a detachable shiny black belt to show off your waist too. The only thing I don't like about this dress is the fact it is sleeveless, I hate showing off my arms, so I'd probably throw on a cardigan/blazer with it before going out. I'm sure during the summer I'll be donning some fake tan and then I'd be more comfortable with this.

"WearAll is a dedicated online fashion experience offering the latest trends in clothing at affordable value for money prices. By sourcing clothing directly from manufacturers both UK based and internationally WearAll provides an easy efficient and fast service bringing the catwalk straight to your door."

I am really happy with the dress and it arrived quickly via post, its a bargain price too at just over £10. So a big thank you to the team at Wearall for sending me this :)

A Small Beauty Haul | Superdrug & Bodycare

Apologies for the photo quality, I've taken it quickly with my iPhone to share a small beauty haul with you. I popped to my local shopping centre today and dragged my sister, Sarah who blogs at Morrall Of The Story along with me! The sole purpose of this trip was to go and purchase my new "sim only" phone contract, which I did, but of course I was drawn to the beauty shops and ended up picking up a few things...

First up from Superdrug I picked up the new Nivea Micellar Water for Sensitive Skin. I've been looking for this product for a while now and it was on introductory offer at £2.72(normally £3.99) so I couldn't turn it down. I'll do a full review of this once I've had chance to try it out. I also needed to re-purchase my current favourite Max Factor Clump Defy Mascara, luckily this was also on offer at £7.99(normally £10.99) to celebrate 50 years of Superdrug, and it's even been re-designed with an adorable pink polka dot design for the occasion! Finally I picked up my favourite Garnier Self-Heating Sauna Mask, I LOVE this mask simply because it really feels like it's doing your skin good, and leaves you looking so fresh and radiant! This was on offer at 86p(normally £1.29), and you get two uses out of this double pouch!

From Bodycare I picked up a couple of things that I didn't necessarily need, but thought looked good! This Goody Hair Brush, which I picked up as I thought it beared a striking resemblance to the Denman hair brushes but at a bargain price of about £2.59, I'll see how I get on with it, it looks promising though. Lastly, I picked up yet another lip balm... I literally have a drawer full of them! This Carmex Moisture Plus with Sheer Pink Tint was a little expensive for a lip balm at £2.69 but I've just found it on Boots for a whopping £4.49! I hope it will solve my dry lips whilst giving a splash of colour too. It contains SPF15, so would be ideal if you're off on holiday soon!

I hope you've enjoyed my haul, have you tried any of these products, are any of them your favourites too?

This post is long overdue, as you can tell by the fact that this was a limited edition Valentines gift set from LUSH! We are now nearing the end of April, so I do apologise, but I found these pictures saved in my drafts posts and thought I'd share my thoughts on this box with you. My Fiancé bought me this as one of his gifts to me for Valentine's day and I loved it as soon as I saw the funky looking packaging!

The box actually contained 5 products, one of which was a massage bar, which upon opening the box I found had melted everywhere because someone left it by the radiator all night haha! So we will have to skip that one. The LUSH Sex Bomb Bath Ballistic offers sensual healing with jasmine, ylang ylang and clary sage to ease stress, clear your mind and soothe your worries whilst leaving your bath a pretty gradient pink/purple colour! The limited edition and aptly named LUSH Prince Charming Shower Gel has the scent of pomegranate and vanilla, and contains almond oil to leave your skin feeling soft and nourished. The adorable heart shaped LUSH Love Soap Bar is infused with fresh passion fruit to cleanse and soya yoghurt to nourish the skin and is suitable for use all over the body in the bath or shower. Finally, the LUSH Ro's Argan Body Conditioner, which was by far my favourite product in the box! This "in-shower" body conditioner is packed full of delicious butters(cocoa, shea and cupuacu) and oils(argan, brazil nut and almond) to leave your skin looking plumped and gorgeous - with added vitamin E to give your skin back it's radiance. Overall this was a really good gift - perfect for a cosy and romantic night in with your loved one, I was really pleased with it. A couple of the products are available to buy from LUSH now, although the ones that I haven't linked up, well... I guess you'll just have to wait until next Valentines Day to get your hands on those beauties!

Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Soufflé Body Cremé - I've seen a few bloggers reviewing makeup products from this brand, but I didn't realise they did body products too. This body cream smells so lush, and I'm already a fan because it's non-greasy and soaks into the skin quickly. The cream is packed full of vitamins A,C,E and contains Shea butter to give your skin the nourishment and moisture it needs to look and feel it's best!

Yin Yang Natural Moisturiser - This light moisturiser contains a blend of natural botanicals including spring water, coconut oil, witch hazel and sweet orange oil, which not only feels good, but does good for your skin! The formula is pH balanced and protects against dryness and ageing, this is deemed suitable for all ages and skin types with the exception of oily or acne-prone skins. I've been using this on a morning before applying my primer and make up.

RMK Make Up Base - I just ran out of my Maybelline Baby Skin Primer, so this couldn't have come at a better time. It's very different to most other primers I've tried because its a very thin, lightweight, silky formula, and does offer a dewy finish, rather than matte, but I do really like it! This lotion smoothes and hydrates the skin to offer the perfect base before applying your makeup - and really does help your foundation last longer.

Colour Club Gala's Gems Collection Nail Polish - These pearlescent pastel shades are perfect for Spring! I got the shade "Breakfast At" which is a beautiful emerald pearl colour, love it, I'm tempted to purchase the others - I love the look of "Gold Struck" :)

theBalm How 'Bout Them Apples Palette - I have to admit, I saved the best til last on this one! First of all, I love theBalm's packaging, its always so cute and retro, and it features a cute little pug on the front :) I got the shade "Pie" which is a pink/red shade, but the full palette contains 6 orchard inspired shades, perfect for all complexions! They have a cream formula which make them easy to blend and you can build the shades from a light flush of colour to more dramatic looks. The cream can be used on both your lips and cheeks, making it well worth the money for such a versatile and multi-use palette!

April's Birchbox followed the theme "good enough to eat", my box contained five beauty samples (which I'd strongly advise you not to try and eat haha!) and a sixth "lifestyle" sample in the form of this delicious Propercorn Sweet Coconut & Vanilla Popcorn, which lasted all of 2 minutes as I devoured them all to myself, mmm! On first impressions there were a couple of brands I recognised; Laura Mercier and theBalm which I am most excited about. There are a few new brands which I've not heard of before, but I was pleased with everything I got in my box and have really enjoyed trying the samples out so far!

You can subscribe to Birchbox for £10 + £2.95 p&p (monthly).

*Unfortunately this will be my last Birchbox review because I'm cancelling my subscription, simply because I'm trying to save money, but I am very happy with the service and products I've received from Birchbox, and hopefully I'll subscribe again in the future.

I recently purchased the three new Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Pastel Nail Paints. These come in the names of Huckleberry(which for some reason is printed ~burry on the bottom of my bottle) - a creamy baby blue, Rose Hip - a creamy baby pink, and finally Sugar Apple - a gorgeous milky shade of Aqua - undoubtedly my favourite of the three!

I've seen endless posts about them already but I wanted to offer up my thoughts on them too! Barry M are by far my favourite nail polish brand, the vast range available are of excellent quality and reasonably priced. These new shades are no exception, they follow on from the formula of the original Gelly Hi Shine polishes which apply easily, become opaque within 2 coats, dry reasonably quickly and to a very glossy, non-streaky finish! I should also add that they wear extremely well, and I managed to get around 6-7 days without a single chip in sight. These are priced at £3.99 each, but are very often on 3 for 2 in Superdrug / Boots. Overall I would highly recommend purchasing these shades to stay on top of the trends for SS14! I also decided to get into the "Spring mood" and make use of these Cute Cat, Duck, Flower Nail Art Water Decals* I got from Born Pretty Store, aren't they adorable? I will be doing another post featuring the kitty stickers soon! Also, you can get 10% off these using my unique discount code "LA5X31" at the checkout! :)

b&m, b&m haul, pastel pitcher vase, cheap oil burner, polkadot oil burner, shabby chic drawers stack love hearts drawers, shabby chic furniture decor
B&M always have the cutest things in their home decor sections! My mom bought me the pastel pink pitcher for £3.99. I am currently using as a flower vase for the pretty tulips she bought me for Easter instead of an Easter Egg(I don't eat much chocolate because I always have a cracking headache afterwards!). Secondly I picked up this cute little polka dot oil burner for 99p which I will use to burn my Yankee Wax Tarts. I also bought this gorgeous shabby chic drawer stack which was £5.99, it will be great to store my jewellery!

revlon nail polish poundland, revlon nails minted, mint green nails, pastel nails, cheap argan oil, budget argan oil, owls, owl wind chime, pastel teacup
I'm not sure what it is, but I always seem to find something to buy everytime I go to Poundland. Beauty wise, I picked up yet another Revlon nail polish in shade "Minted" which is a pretty pastel mint green - perfect for spring! I also found this Argan Oil Heat Defence Spray which looks quite promising, and smells absolutely amazing, I'll put it to the test and hopefully get round to reviewing it soon. Decorations wise I found this pretty owl wind chime and the cute pastel pink polkadot teacup in the gardening section. I think I'll use the tea cup to store bits and bobs on my dresser.

pound shop beauty buys, argan oil body wash, dove body wash, right guard body wash,
I picked up a range of bodycare essentials from Poundworld, I always buy this kind of thing from the £ shops because they always have products at great value. I've not tried the Daily Defense body wash before though, so we will see about this particular product, its a huge bottle though, and it smells nice anyway.

boots, boots haul, boots health and beauty magazine, boots magazine, loreal fibrology, loreal fibrology shampoo conditioner serum
I popped into Boots as I needed some new shampoo and conditioner. These new L'Oreal Elvive Fibrology products were on 3 for £10, I couldn't turn them down because this was an absolute bargain. They should have been Shampoo £3.99, Thickening Masque £5.09 and Thickness Creation Serum £6.99, so I saved about £6 overall! I grabbed a copy of the Health & Beauty Mag at the till, which is free if you have an advantage card by the way!

superdrug, superdrug haul, barry m haul, barry m nail polish, barry m gelly hi shine, barry m limited edition superdrug, barry m sugar apple, barry m huckleberry, barry m rosehip
I picked up the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Pastel in "Sugar Apple" a little while ago, and have been meaning to pick up the other two shades for a while, so when I noticed that Barry M are on 3 for 2 offer in Superdrug I snapped these up, along with the Limited Edition "50 years of Superdrug" nail polish too! All super pretty :)

primark, primark haul, primark buys, primark april 2014, primark april haul, primark spring haul,
I picked up a couple of clothing items from Primark, these were all £5 each, the jumper and cardigan were in the sale but the skater dress was part of their £5 dresses range, which I am a big fan of already! I love the pattern on the bottom of the dress!

primark, primark haul, primark buys, primark april 2014, primark april haul, primark spring haul, primark nails, primark beauty, primark candles, primark home, statement necklace primark
I love chunky necklaces, and I loved the pastel flowers on this one, which was only £3! I grabbed a couple of beauty products from Primark's P.S Love range, including this nail polish remover pot, which works brilliantly and was only £1. I picked up another one of the owl candles, this time in pretty pink(you can see the last one I bought in this haul post) it contains a vanilla scented candle and was too cute to pass on at just £2.50.

There you have it, a few bargain buys from my Easter Weekend. I'm back at work tomorrow unfortunately, however at least it will stop me from spending any more money haha. I hope you've all had a brilliant Easter break, and not eaten too much choccie eggs! :)

Review | Maylash Natural Eyelash Serum

Maylash Natural Eyelash Serum Review, get longer eyelashes, thicker eyelashes, eyelash serum, natural eyelash serum
Maylash Natural Eyelash Serum Review, get longer eyelashes, thicker eyelashes, eyelash serum, natural eyelash serum
Maylash Natural Eyelash Serum Review, get longer eyelashes, thicker eyelashes, eyelash serum, natural eyelash serum

Unfortunately I wasn't blessed with long, thick and full eyelashes... which are qualities pretty much everyone would love to have! Most of us just have to make do with volumising mascara's and false lashes to make our peepers look beautiful! However, I was recently offered the chance to trial and review Maylash Natural Eyelash Serum, which claims to give you longer, denser and fuller eyelashes within 2-8 weeks - I jumped at the chance!

A little about the serum...
♥ Maylash is a 100% natural eyelash serum, so is suitable even for sensitive eyes.
♥ Maylash contains vitamins and minerals, some of which remove toxins, darken lashes, regenerate hair folicles and accelerate hair growth!
♥ Maylash is free from prostoglandins, a potentially harmful, chemical substance found in a lot of lash serums.
♥ Maylash is quick and simple to use, apply a thin layer along your lashline at night onto clean, make up free lashes.
♥ Most people will notice some difference between 2-8 weeks, and achieve max results after 2-4 months.
♥ Maylash comes in a 3ml tube, which will last up to 4 months with a single use every day.
♥ Maylash can also be used on your lower lashline and even your eyebrows!
♥ Maylash is not tested on animals!
♥ You can watch a video all about Maylash here, and find some before and after photo's.

Results so far...
I have been using the serum as instructed, applying a thin layer once a day to my lashline for just over a month. Unfortunately it's a little pricey at £49 for the 3ml tube, however if it lasts for 4 months, then this makes it more acceptable. I have sensitive eyes, and haven't noticed any side effects or reactions to the product, which is great! I've noticed a slight difference in the appearance of my lashes as they are a little darker and more prominent now than they were before. Also I think they've become a little longer too. The results haven't been noticed by anyone else, so they aren't drastically improved - however, it does state that you should use the product for up to 4 months to achieve maximum results. But I certainly won't be going out without wearing mascara anytime soon! I have taken some "before" pics, and once I've finished the tube of maylash, I will take some "after" pics to update you all!

P.S - I have been given a discount code for my readers to get 30% off this serum using the code "laura30" at the checkout.

Wishlist | Primark SS14 Collection!

The weather is absolutely glorious here in the West Mid's today, and it's kinda got me in the Spring/Summer mood. I was browsing through some of the new Primark products on the InStyle website - link and decided to put together a lovely little SS14 wishlist! I would absolutely love to go and treat myself to some of the above items, as I've not bought anything nice for myself in months, and my wardrobe really could do with an update for the warmer months! But for now, I'm saving like a boss so I'll stick to "window shopping" - here are my favourite picks of the Primark SS14 Collection. There's a bit of everything included from all the hottest trends right now including, pretty pastels, bold colours and prints, and as always... flirty florals!

I'd love to hear what your favourite trends are for this season, and what are your recent Primark purchases?!

Its time to put away those Winter-y fragrances and make way for your new signature scent for Spring/Summer 2014! There are tonnes of new releases on the market for the upcoming months, however the new Gucci Guilty Stud Limited Edition Pour Femme* was the one that really caught my eye... It appears that the fragrance is the same as the original Gucci Guilty but with a gorgeous Stud Limited Edition bottle! Which gives a real luxury appearance, featuring the well known interlocking "GG" but is now covered with over 400 gold studs! Offering a glamorous new appearance, which will have both Gucci and previously non-Gucci fans alike lusting after it. The fragrance itself is described as an Oriental, Floral scent...

Notes; Top: Mandarin & Pink Pepper | Heart: Peach, Lilac & Geranium | Base: Amber and Patchouli

Which for those of us who are non-perfume-technical, it's basically a combination of fruity and flowery scents, and I must admit, it was love at first sniff for me, it has the perfect balance between those two categories! The fragrance literally lasts all day, I have worn to work several times and received tonnes of compliments about the scent, and after an 8 hour day I can still smell it when I get home. I must admit wearing such a gorgeous fragrance does give me a huge confidence boost, and along with the right outfit, even makes you feel sexy ;)

"Gucci Guilty - A sensual and distinctive scent for women that like to express how unique and sexy they are, the woman who does not sit around waiting for things to happen . She makes things happen. Gucci is the brand of sex and power. In Gucci Guilty, this woman discovers the very scent of defiance"

Fragrance Direct are offering both the Women and Men's Gucci Guilty Stud Limited Edition at discounted prices and they have a huge sale on at the moment too! So why not treat yourself and your man to some sexy new scents! Or, you could like the Fragrance Direct Facebook Page for your chance to win one of their new fragrances every day next week!
