Bloglovin' ♥

Hi everyone! I hope you're all enjoying your weekend, looking forward to the #bbloggers chat tonight, I've tried to start joining in with this again just lately, and have met some great new bloggers and interacted with some of the first bloggers I ever followed again!

I've noticed recently that my Bloglovin' followers don't seem to be as high as my followers via GFC for example, which is strange, because a lot of other blogs are the opposite way round, and I've found that Bloglovin' has taken off massively since the end of Google Reader a little while back and I've definitely been using it a lot more lately too. It's so easy to use and keep up to date with new blogs and posts!

What is Bloglovin? - "The easiest way to follow your favorite blogs and discover new ones"

I would love if you could all take a few seconds to click on the image or link below to follow me via Bloglovin', I'd be ever so grateful, and will follow you all back! Thank youuu

easy nail art, easy polkadot nails, easy polkadot nail tutorial, sharpie pens, metallic sharpie pens, NOTD, pastel nails, mint green pastel nails, spring/summer nails, ss14 nails,

Hi everyone, just a super quick nail art post for you today, well if you can call it nail art... This is a super easy and quick nail art idea which I actually saw on another blog a while ago(sorry I can't remember who's blog!) Basically, as soon as I saw their post, I ordered a set of Sharpie Metallic Marker Pens from eBay - link and couldn't wait to give it a go myself. So I decided to go with a pastel nail shade in the form of this gorgeous Eye Candy - Peppermint Dream. I started off with a base coat of OPI Nail Envy, before adding two coats of this shade, waited until completely dry, before using the silver metallic marker to add the polkadots. I then finished with a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. It is important that you use a top coat otherwise the marker pen design will rub off.

So there you have it, a cute and simple nail design. Great if you're short for time, or just don't have a steady hand for nail art, and an absolutely perfect colour for the spring/summer months ahead!

You don't even need to just stick to polkadots, you could add stripes, triangles or even add flowers etc using these markers! Let me know if you have any other easy-peasy nail art ideas!

Review | Garmin Nuvi 50 Sat Nav

Garmin Nuvi 50 Sat Nav Review / Tesco Compare safety and security tester/ blogger
When I first got my licence back in 2010, I couldn't wait to get on the roads. I got my first car in 2011 and I've bought 3 cars since then. I now drive a Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 Petrol 2010 model in a snazzy metallic blue(link to Instagram photo of my car), which was pretty much my dream car, and I love it! One thing that's always holding me back when driving, is my total and utter non-knowledge of sense of direction, and I was never any good at Geography at school either. That's why, whenever I have to go somewhere new, other than my usual commute to and from work, I rely solely on a Sat Nav to get me there! I know, I know, any men reading this will probably be thinking "typical woman driver", right? I'm not ashamed to admit it!

Anyway, I've used various Sat Nav's passed down from my Grandad to me over the years and they've never done me wrong. I was recently offered the chance to become a safety and security tester by Tesco Compare and was sent the Garmin Nuvi 50 Sat Nav* to review. So I've been trying it out over the past week or so to provide you with a review.

The Nuvi 50 was literally ready to use straight from the box, as who really has time to read the instruction manuals these days?! The Sat Nav is easy to use and reliable. It has a bright, 5 inch touchscreen display which provides easy user navigation and clearly displayed menus. It gives you accurate turn by turn directions with spoken street names so you know exactly where you are and where you're going. One of my favourite features is that it comes pre-loaded with over 5 million "points of interest" including hotels, restaurants, petrol stations shopping and other attractions.

One of the biggest safety features is the built-in speed limit indicator and Cyclops Speed Cameras function to make you aware of safety cameras and help you drive safely, legally and consciously and keep you out of trouble with the law! Another fabulous feature is the option to avoid toll roads and motorways, so if you aren't comfortable driving on these kind of roads yet, you don't have to go near them! The Nuvi 50 allows you to navigate into the correct lane before its too late, with its lane assist/junction view function. Finally, there is the option to download vehicle and voice types to your device through the Garmin Garage which offers novelties such as Star Wars, Wallace & Gromit & The Simpsons voices and vehicles, to make your journey a little more entertaining but still keeping you safe on the roads!

Overall the Garmin Nuvi 50 Sat Nav is a brilliant device, and perfect for driver's like myself, who don't do long journeys too often, but need a Sat Nav which is reliable and easy to use! It comes in at a very reasonable price too, at £66.99 - Amazon (RRP £99.99)

We're engaged!

engagement, engagement ring, engagement blog post, engagement announcement, we're engaged

Don't worry, I'm not about to get all soppy and lovey-dovey on you guys! I just thought it was a little bit of news worth sharing here on my blog. On the 16th February, whilst we were away on a short break for Valentines weekend(my blog post about that weekend here) my boyfriend Ashley proposed, so we are now engaged! It still sounds weird saying that we are now FiancĂ© and FiancĂ©e!

We have been together for almost 5 years now, we met while we were at college. During this time we've had our ups, and we've had our (lots of) downs! But I guess this is what relationships are made of? I don't believe in these fairy tale relationships where everyone is always smiling and happy, and get swept off their feet and fall head over heels in love - blah blah blah... It's more of a realistic approach for me. "If you always prepare for the worst, you won't be disappointed, then when something good happens, you can be happy about it" - (My life motto right there!)

Personally, I'm not and never have been bothered by the whole marriage thing, I would absolutely hate to be the centre of attention all day, I like to hide away, keep myself to myself, and avoid big social situations whenever possible. So I won't be "walking down the aisle" anytime soon. Maybe one day...

Not to mention, all the pressures these days to have a big fancy wedding and to out-do everyone else who's been married, is just ridiculous, and to be quite honest, I have better things to spend my money on than a dress, fancy suits, bouquets of flowers and table decorations.

So what does this mean for me? Well, it just shows that Ashley has took one step further in his commitment towards me and our relationship. So it provides a little more stability I guess? Our next step is to find our own place so we can move out of our parent's houses. I know that females are supposed to mature a few years ahead of guys, but I'm hoping that Ashley is finally ready for this next step now, like I was a couple of years ago haha.

Overall, despite the tone of this post(I've just re-read it back to myself and thought oh my god that sounds awful) I am happy about being engaged, I just won't be looking to actually get married any time soon. However, I am super excited about finding our first home together and buying lots of lovely things to put in it! :)

P.S - If anyone has any questions or further thoughts on my comments in this post, please feel free to email me about it!

Poundland Bargains | Chupa Chups & Love Hearts Scented Candles

cheap scented candles, chupa chups candles, love hearts candles, poundland candles, poundland candles review, budget scented candles, pretty candles,

I've seen these Love Hearts candles doing the rounds on a few blogs lately, and I've been buying them for ages, however the other day I noticed these Chupa-Chups candles, so thought I'd do a quick post on them. If any of you are like me, then you will constantly have a candle on the burn while your in a room, it just creates such a nice ambience, and makes everything smell lovely too. Even more so when the candles smell like sweeties! The Love Hearts one is Strawberry scented, and the Chupa Chups is Strawberry & Cream scented, both smell very similar but I prefer the latter as its just so sweet and yummy smelling! These are a total bargain and are only £1 each at Poundland! The candles literally fill the whole room/house with a lovely aroma and last for quite a while, around 8 hours-ish! I've also bought Skittles candles and M&M's candles from Poundland, I'd definitely recommend the Skittles ones too! P.S - Does anyone else wish you could buy online from Poundland?!

NOTD Ladybird Nail Art

Ladybird Nail Art, NOTD, ladybird nails, nail art, nail designs
Ladybird Nail Art, NOTD, ladybird nails, nail art, nail designs

It's been quite a while since I shared some nail art here on the blog, I just don't seem to have the time for it anymore, and my creativity seems to have been put to the very back of my mind just lately, it sucks and I'm totally blaming my dead end, boring job for this problem! However, here's a little design I did months ago and have found saved in my "drafts" posts. Hope you like it!

I think the design is soooo cute! And I'm pretty sure I've "spotted" (see what I did there?! haha) a very similar design on the Primark false nails sets too! So even if you're not into doing your nails, you could just go and buy the nails and stick them on! Its pretty simple to do, I used a red base coat, then used a black nail polish to add the ladybird heads at the tip of the nails, before using a black nail art brush to add the little "feelers" and using a dotting tool to add the ladybirds spots. I then used the dotting tool with a white polish to add the eyes. Enjoy giving this a go yourself! :)

Enjoy The Perfect Girls Night Out

 Image from -

Going out with the girls can often be an enjoyable experience for friends to come together after a hectic week at work or looking after a child and enjoy each other's company. There are a variety of activities to choose from to allow women to let their hair down and relieve any stress that has built over the week, whilst divulging in catch-up conversations that can last for hours. Enjoying a few drinks at a bar or nightclub is often the preferred choice to let all the troubles and worries flow away through responsible drinking, but it is possible for a group of women in the West Midlands to cram three activities into one fun-packed evening that can be enjoyable and memorable in equal measure.

Taking part in a quiz could provide the perfect filler between a lovely meal and a few cocktails before dancing the night away in a club. Although traditional quizzes can be a fun and enjoyable event to participate in, they could soon be replaced by the more modernistic alternative of speedquizzing. The one feature unique to speed quizzing is the use of smartphone and tablet devices to answer questions throughout the quiz, which not only render the existence of pen and paper as obsolete, but also effectively prevent the possibility of cheating that can spoil any quiz night.

Although women who endure a busy week at the workplace or being the mother to a child are advised to eat regularly, restricted time could result in a lack of a good meal or being able to sit down and enjoying eating. Making a point of organising an entire evening with the girls is perfect for everyone to get together in the same place and enjoy a good catch-up, whilst also enjoying the flavoursome food cooked and prepared by a professional chef in a restaurant. Starting with a dinner allows women to sit down and relax in a quiet, relaxed environment where they can alleviate stress and enjoy talking to their friends and fellow mothers who can relate to any sleepless nights and crying tantrums.

Pub quiz
A nice, hearty meal could then be followed by a walk to a local pub, such as the Actress & Bishop pub in Birmingham, where a speedquizzing event is behind held. Putting heads together in a collective team can provide the basis for a enjoyable quiz night packed with laughter and competitiveness that never threatens to boil over; quizzes have always been about the taking part mattering more than winning. Walking into a speedquiz event venue can instantaneously feel different to a traditional quiz as the whole format is revamped through the integration and use of handheld technology. Every team is required to use one smartphone or tablet device from which to download an app that instantly transforms the device into the keypad from which every question is answered. The quiz follows a fast and frantic pace, with ten seconds given between each question, with a small break between each round provide a little breather for participants to get their breaths back and prepare themselves for the next barrage of questions. Speedquizzing can be a wonderful event during a girls night out to carry on the element of enjoyment and fun that should throughout the evening.

Dressing up to the nines and painting the nails for a night out is a must for any woman who wishes to look beautiful and get into the party mood for the third stage of a girls' night out. Looking glamorous should be a prominent feature throughout the evening, although going to a bar or nightclub allows women to enjoy a few drinks and dance the night away. Responsible drinking is advised, although having a sore head in the morning is reflective of a wonderful night with the girls.

Pub quiz, nice hearty meal could then be followed by a walk to a local pub, such as the actress.

Beverly Hills Formula Pefect White, Black!? Toothpaste Review

Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White, Black Anti-Ageing Toothpaste Review
Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White, Black Anti-Ageing Toothpaste Review

Who'd have thought it... A whitening toothpaste, which is black!? Well Beverly Hills Formula have released the UK's first black toothpaste. The "Anti-ageing" concept comes down to the fact that basically... the whiter your teeth are, the younger you look, as teeth become stained and discoloured with age.

This toothpaste contain activated Charcoal, also known as Carbon, and is one of the most effective and safest teeth whitening ingredients. It is proven to whiten teeth, help to combat plaque, gum disease and bad breath. The toothpaste has a fresh mint taste.

This has become a staple product in my morning and evening routine, along with my new Oral B Tri-zone electric toothbrush, since I received it around a month ago. I can honestly say that although my teeth aren't drastically whitened, I have noticed a more natural looking whiteness to my teeth, and it leaves my mouth with a deep clean, fresh, minty feel!

There is also a Perfect White and Perfect White sensitive option, and all help to achieve a brighter, whiter smile within just five minutes! You can buy from most Superdrug stores and is priced at £4.99

So when it comes to a whiter brighter smile - black really is the new white!
