Thorntons Love You More Than Chocolate Gift
You may remember from one of my recent posts I mentioned that I had booked a treat for me and my boyfriend to a short weekend break for Valentines weekend. We went to the Billing Aquadrome Holiday Park, Northamptonshire for 3 nights stay in a luxury lodge. Unfortunately we had a few problems with our accommodation during our stay including the fact we ended up staying in a "posh" caravan rather than the lodge we were expecting but I won't talk too much about that for now as I have contacted the park and we are in discussion at the moment about how to resolve the problems. So I'll just try and concentrate on the better aspects of the weekend.

The park itself was actually much larger than I had expected. There were hundreds of static caravans and lodges, but it seemed pretty quiet while we were staying there so it was nice and peaceful, I should imagine the place would be heaving during the summer months. We stayed indoors for the first couple of nights/day due to the terrible weather of high winds and rain. We finally braved the outdoors on the Sunday and the weather was warm and sunny, I took advantage of this by snapping a few pics of the lakes and birds, and also the view from the balcony, so picturesque!

There are lots of activities available on the park including swimming, fishing, water zorbes, go karting, mini railway and climbing wall. There is also a multi-million pound leisure complex with indoor pool, gaming complex, restaurant and kids play area. Not to mention there are a variety of shops on site including a traditional sweet shop, pet shop, salon, vintage furniture, toy shop, shabby chic clothes shop and a convenience store in case you've forgotten to pack anything!

We stayed in a 3 Bedroom "Gold Caravan", although this is not what we booked and I paid £234 for it was perfectly positioned directly overlooking the lake along with some other lodges, and also had decking and outdoor furniture. The Caravan's interior was modern and nicely decorated, it had an open plan kitchen/lounge/dining area, 3 bedrooms, and a shower room. As you can probably tell I really enjoy staying in this type of accommodation, it makes it feel like we have our own little home together!

On Valentines night, Ashley was really romantic and while I was in the other room, he turned the lights down and lay rose petals and lit candles in the lounge and left a pile of pressies for me! He bought me the LUSH Lots Of Love Gift Box, Thorntons I Love You More Than Chocolate Gift Set, a cute cupcake and hanging decoration, and finally a dozen luxury red roses, perfect gifts and so thoughtful, if you're reading this, thank you! I bought him a Canon Powershot SX170 Camera, as he has just started a blog and needed a decent camera, and also some other little gifts including a photo frame, socks and his favourite Daim chocolate! We had a lovely cosy and romantic evening together, just how I wanted it to be! Away from everyone and everything!

Overall we had a lovely time, despite a few minor problems with accommodation and maintenance, but I have contacted Billing Aquadrome about this and found their customer service to be brilliant when dealing with my complaint, so I hope to be returning here in the near future for another relaxing break!

My Ultimate Manicure Combo | OPI Nail Envy + Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

OPI Nail Envy Original Nail Strengthener Review, Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat, Best top coat, best base coat, nail treatment for dry/weak/damaged nails, opi nail envy, seche vite top coat
OPI Nail Envy Original Nail Strengthener Review, Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat, Best top coat, best base coat, nail treatment for dry/weak/damaged nails, opi nail envy, seche vite top coat

I'm pretty set in my ways when it comes to painting my nails, I've been using this little combo of products for a couple of years now and I wouldn't be without them! Although they do come in a little expensive, I try and purchase from eBay where I can usually find them much cheaper than in store.

OPI Nail Envy Original Nail Strengthener
Available from: Boots - £18.65 / eBay (unboxed) - £10.99
You may notice that the bottle I have looks different to the one shown on Boots, this is because its the old style of packaging, probably why it's reduced price on eBay, however the seller I have linked above is where I've purchased my last two bottles from, and haven't found any problems with them. This base coat contains strengthening properties in the form of wheat protein and calcium, which in turn, along with proper care of your nails will make them harder, longer and stronger. As I say, I've been using this for a good couple of years now, and I have definitely noticed an improvement on the natural condition and appearance of my nails. They also grow much faster and stay long as they don't break so easily anymore. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who struggles with weak and damaged nails! The formula is easy to apply, dries quickly and to a slightly glossy finish, perfect for just glamming up your natural nails.

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
Available from: Feel Unique - £9.85 / Amazon - £5.65
First of all, I'll start with the only bad point about this polish - the smell! The fumes this polish gives off are unbelievably strong, so I'd definitely advise opening a window before using. Other than that it's plain sailing... This polish not only adds a superior, professional looking high gloss finish to your manicure, but it also dries your previous coats of nail polish super quick, in as little as 60 seconds depending on how many undercoats you've used.  I also find that Seche Vite prevents your nail polish from chipping, sometimes I've known my mani's to last over a week without a chip in sight! It's no wonder that it's acknowledged as the World's finest top coat!

My natural nails and finished manicures really have benefited greatly from using these products and I'd have a hard time finding an alternative if either were to be (God forbid) discontinued!

February 2014 Birchbox // Bloom & Wild Monthly Subscription Review

Just before Valentine's Day I stumbled across this fabulous offer from Birchbox who collaborated with Bloom & Wild to offer a monthly beauty box and flower bouquet subscription service. What more could a girl want, really? I have decided to cancel my Glossybox subscription for now, and transferred to Birchbox as I've seen so many great reviews on their boxes so far! I received my first delivery of both products on 13th Feb, just in time for a little Valentine's Day treat to myself, and here's what I thought about it...

Bloom & Wild are the first of their kind, a flower delivery service which bring you a beautiful, full bouquet of flowers which fit through your letterbox! They are very affordable, and they arrived in perfect condition and beautifully presented. They were wrapped in cellophane with a deep purple box, and the delicate roses were wrapped individually in netting for protection and with their own vial of water to keep them fresh. They came with some flower food to add to the vase of water and an instruction/care guide, which tells you what the flowers are and even how to arrange them! The flowers are freshly cut to order the day previous to delivery, so when they arrive with you they won't have bloomed yet, as you can see from the first couple of photo's above. I left them for a few days before photographing again, and as you can see the lilies look absolutely stunning once they have bloomed fully! The roses were very fitting for the Valentines theme :)  I honestly cannot wait for next months flowers to be delivered, this months bouquet was gorgeous!

Considering this was my first ever Birchbox, and I've read so many great reviews before, I was expecting big things... I wasn't disappointed! First of all I noticed that the box is quite a bit smaller in size compared to Glossyboxes, and Birchbox include a small canvas tie bag, great for travelling to use as a wash bag! I can definitely see myself using all the products in this box, and have already used all of the Gilchrist & Soames Shower Gel and half of the Urban Veda Radiance Exfoliating Facial Polish. I used the Nail Rock Nail Glitter to create my Valentines NOTD look with some glittery red french tips. I have not yet tried the Eyeko Skinny Mini Liquid Eyeliner, but I will give it a go eventually, I hope that one day I will master the art of eyeliner because I'm terrible at it! The last product which I will be making use of once my current hair oil runs out is the Beauty Protector Protect & Oil, which I'm really looking forward to trying out. Birchbox also included a little extra Green & Blacks Organic Chocolate sample in this box too, what a lovely touch.

You can still get your hands on the Birchbox & Bloom & Wild Monthly Subscription for just £20 a month (Including P&P), total bargain if you ask me!

Valentines & Mothers Day Gift Idea's From Scented Floral Creations

Valentines Gift Idea Scented Floral Creations Rose Review Photo Blog Review - Glass Cube With Preserved Rose
Valentines Gift Idea Scented Floral Creations Rose Review Photo Blog Review - Glass Cube With Preserved Rose

With Valentine's Day almost upon us you may still be looking to find a last minute gift for your loved one? Well how about this beautiful and unique offering from Scented Floral Creations? Instead of the standard and frankly a little boring bunch of a dozen red roses, why not give this Glass Cube with Preserved Rose* as a gift to brighten up their home or even their office? There are a variety of four colours, I chose Pink to be different, but there are also Red, Yellow and Purple! Not only are they are great gift for your Valentine, but maybe as a Mothers Day Gift too - which isn't too far away!

The product consists of the Rose and Alisier leaves, presented in a cube shaped glass vase, which is filled with layers of coloured sand, stones and artificial water, which will provide all the care it needs to keep the arrangement looking lovely! The rose is scented too which adds a lovely touch.

All Scented Floral Creations are lovingly handmade to order, which means no two products will ever be the same, and they are packaged very well to ensure they arrive with you, or your loved one, in perfect condition!

This little beauty will be taking pride of place on my desk at work, to brighten up my day! Why not check out their range of Table Decorations (link) and find something to make your home or office look pretty.

I've become accustom to using the same brushes to apply my makeup day in, day out, and I have a real hard time finding new brushes which compare to the comfort and ease of using these particular brushes (Including; Real Techniques Buffing Brushes, Eco Tools Eye Shader Brush and a couple of my favourite, and very old blusher brush and angled liner brush which I don't even know the brand of anymore). However when I came across the Nanshy website through reviews from other bloggers, I really wanted to try these out for myself.  I was kindly sent some of the brushes to try out, so I put all my other brushes into storage and have just used these brushes alone for the past week! Let me tell you how I've got on...

First of all, can I just point out how beautiful the brushes are! Their pearlescent handle and chrome topping creates a beautiful effect, compared to the dull plain black of my other brushes anyway, so I was almost instantly won over by their appearance alone. The handles are well sized which makes them easy to hold and work with. The bristles are synthetic, but are so unbelievably soft! The bristles are densely packed into the metallic topper, and so far I haven't found them to shed at all!

Nanshy Round Buffer Brush*
The dome shaped soft synthetic bristles are fluffy and dense, which makes applying foundations a dream. The brush can be used to apply cream, liquid and even mousse based formulas.

Nanshy Flat Top Buffer Brush*
This perfectly flat top shaped brush allows for easy blending and buffing of your foundation, finishing powder, blushers or bronzers. You could even use the brush to stipple cream/liquid foundations onto the skin using this brush. I've found it particularly good for buffing finishing powder into the skin after applying my liquid foundation.

Nanshy Large Shader Eye Brush*
This large shader brush is an essential for any eye make up look, I've been using and found it perfect for applying a base colour to your lids and also for blending.

Nanshy Angled Detailer Eye Brush*
Perfect for those hard to reach areas, ie. lining the lashes, and filling in your brows, the bristles are firm but soft and allows for precise application, yet still being gentle on the skin.

"Nanshy is a cruelty free brand - No animal testing! All brushes are synthetic and Vegan friendly - Nanshy are a proud member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - PETA.org and is against cruelty to animals."

Overall I've found the Nanshy brushes very good quality, and easily comparible, if not better than my normal range of cosmetics brushes, and am glad to have discovered this brand! I will definitely be looking to purchase more brushes in the range. I'd love to get my hands on their Nanshy Luxury Brush Set (link) for sure! All their brushes are available to buy from Amazon.

The Body Shop is a place I seem to have overlooked in terms of make up and cosmetics in the past, I have no idea why because I was very kindly sent The Body Shop Smoky Eye Palette* to review, and to say the least I am impressed! The palette itself is a sleek and shiny black compact and comes with a 4-step guide on the back to show you how and where to apply each of the eyeshadows. Inside the compact is a large mirror, 4 eyeshadows, an eyeshadow shader brush and an angled liner brush. I'm not normally a fan of the brushes included in palettes, however these are surprisingly good quality, the bristles are soft and they blend the shadows well.

The palette I received is called Smoky Brown, unfortunately I can't seem to find a direct link to this palette, so I can only assume it was a limited edition or discontinued? The only link I've found is on their USA website, to their 'Smoky Plum' palette - here. Anyways, the four shadows consist of a base and highlight colour, lid colour, outer crease colour and a liner colour, everything you need to create the perfect smoky eye all in this small and handy compact!

All four shades are equally well pigmented, and as they have a metallic/glitter finish, I was surprised to find they are really soft and non-gritty. (I have sensitive eyes, and have to refrain from wearing certain glittery shades due to the glitter pieces getting in my eyes). There is a little kick-up from the shades in the pan, but nothing too drastic after a quick blow of the brush before application. In terms of wear-time, they tend to last around 6+ hours without a primer (my lids are only slightly oily) but I think next time I will try wearing them with a primer to increase the colour intensity and lasting power, especially if it was for a night out!

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm no make up expert, and to tell the truth I'm totally rubbish when applying eye make up, my hands are really unsteady! So I was grateful for the step-by-step guide, and the shades were so easy to work with. For those of you who are interested, I used TOPSHOP Kohl Eyeliner on my waterline, and my Max Factor Clump Defy Mascara to finish off and I was really happy with the overall look!

I think the palette retailed at around £15 previously, probably half that in their sale! I would totally recommend this palette, and will definitely be looking to try out some more make up from The Body Shop range. Why not head on over and check out some gift ideas from The Body Shop... Perfect as a little treat to yourself for Valentines Day? ;)

Valentines Gift Guide For Her ♥ #valentines #valentinesday #valentinesday2014 #valentinesdaygifts #valentinesdaygiftideas #valentinesforher #valentinesgiftsforher #valentinesgiftsforgirlfriend

Following on from my last post, heres the second part of my "Valentines Day Gifts Guide" and this time its for the ladies! I know a lot of people are probably hating on me already for even mentioning Valentines, but its always nice to browse around and if you are single, then why not treat yourself for Valentines!? Again, I've included a little something for every budget, starting off at a few pounds all the way up to a couple of hundred pounds.

1. LUSH Cosmetics Love Bug | link
LUSH have a brilliant Valentines section on their website at the moment, there are lots of products at very reasonable prices including this totally adorable Love Bug which is only £2.95!

2. Personalised Photo Collage Phone Case | link
Yes, I featured this in my gift guide for him, but as its such a great gift idea that I thought I'd add it to this one too. Not only can you add personal photo's. I've recently discovered Mr Nutcase offer personalised phone cases for loads of different makes and models of phone. You can upload any of your favourite photos and add text, or choose from one of their pre-loaded designs.

3. Valentines Pink Champagne For Her | link
What better way to celebrate than with a bottle of champagne? There are some beautiful champagne gift sets by Lanson at Very.co.uk, I love how some are in pink bottles, and one of the gift sets comes with 2 glasses to match. There is also a miniature gift set with one black and one rose label, one for him, one for her!

4. Valentines Chocolate Gift Set | link
Who doesn't love chocolate? Well, why not treat your lady to this "Love You More Than Chocolate" gift set from Thorntons? It looks so pretty and you can even add your own little love notes in icing to the chocolates. Not to mention, its only £20, for all that chocolate?! You never know, she might even share it with you ;)

5. Giant Me To You Valentines Teddy Bear | link
My boyfriend always buys me Me To You bears, they're just adorable! However, instead of buying from the high street shops, why not visit Say It With Bears - which is an online store selling bears of all kinds for every occasion. Their bears even come with a free greetings card and birth certificate, so you can name the bear and add a personal message to your loved one.

6. Sweetest Valentine Yankee Candle | link
This limited edition product by Yankee Candle has been released just in time for Valentines. It's irresistible combination of Sparkling Cinnamon and luscious Vanilla Cupcake, will have your hearts melting together on a romantic night in!

7. Birchbox and Bloom & Wild Joint Subscription | link
A lot of beauty bloggers are subscribed to a beauty box, however I've been thinking of changing mine recently, which is where I came across this fantastic joint subscription. Birchbox have teamed up with Bloom & Wild to bring you this beauty box and flower bouquet monthly for the fantastic price of just £20 a month! (It is a recurring monthly subscription but you can cancel at any time). Now I don't know about you, but that sounds amazing to me, flowers and beauty, what more could a girl want! I think I'll be heading over to cancel my Glossybox sub shortly and change to this!

8. Romantic City Break Hotel & Spa | link
Could you think of a better way to unwind and relax together than a nice hotel and spa break for two? There are tonnes of City Breaks available, but one thats caught my eye is the Mill Hotel and Spa in Chester. There are beautiful suites, a 60ft swimming pool, gym, jaccuzzi, sauna, hair salon, restaurant, and restaurant cruiser available. Also, you can order champagne/chocolates/wine and even beauty products as an extra package for your stay! Perfect if you were looking to "pop the question" ;)

9. Valentines Fragrance For Her | link
I had a men's fragrance in my last gift guide, so thought I would include fragrance for women too. I personally love Marc Jacobs Dot (< click for my review!) because of the beautiful packaging etc, it fits right in with the red Valentines theme too. Again, I will mention Fragrance Direct have a "best-sellers" section on their website(link above) and all their fragrance are at great prices!

10. Valentines Jewellery Idea - Michael Kors Rose Gold Watch | link
I think literally every blogger on the planet would love a Rose Gold Watch, and I recently recommended it to one of the guys at work to buy their partner as a Christmas gift(which went down a treat!) So guaranteed, that although these watches are a little expensive, whoever receives one of these will not be disappointed! Also, what better gift to buy, than the gift of time? Check out ASOS for their Michael Kors watches range.

11. Valentines Sexy Lingerie | link
Why not treat your lady to some new lingerie for Valentines, we all like to look and feel good about ourselves! There are various places you can buy classy and quality lingerie on the high street and online, including Boux Avenue! Not only will this be a gift for her, but also a gift for you simultaneously!

I hope this has helped some of you to choose some Valentines Gifts for your partners! I better start buying something for my boyfriend now that that's done! haha.

I'd love if you could take a look back at my Valentines Day Gifts Guide For Him

Review | Maybelline Baby Lips "Cherry Me"

Blog Review Swatch Image of Maybelline Baby Lips Cherry Me
Blog Review Swatch Image of Maybelline Baby Lips Cherry Me
Blog Review Lip Swatch Image of Maybelline Baby Lips Cherry Me

I recently gave into temptation and purchased another lip treatment to add to my already "too large" collection. This time, the addition came in the form of the infamous Maybelline Baby Lips! There are currently 6 shades available, and I finally managed to get my hands on "Cherry Me" which seemed to be the most popular of the lot, as it was always sold out when I checked!

Cherry Me is one of the three tinted balms in the range, it is a pink/verging on rosy red tinted lip balm. One swipe will offer a very sheer touch of colour, however the intensity of the shade is easily build-able. My lips are naturally quite rosy, so please bear in mind that when you use this balm it may not have the same effect!

One of the instantly noticeable qualities of the balm, is the subtle but lusciously fruity cherry scent, mmmm! In terms of moisturisation and hydration, the balm is solid in form but is buttery soft once melted by the heat of your lips. Application is very smooth, and its not sticky so is easy and comfortable to wear. Unfortunately it doesn't last long, so you do need to keep re-applying every hour or so. However, at a bargainous price of just £2.99, who can complain!? There are however, a couple of balms in the range, "Intense Care" and "Hydrate" which unfortunately aren't tinted, but do claim to offer more care and nourishment to the lips!

You can purchase from Boots (link) and Superdrug (link) and are often on 3 for the price of 2, so even better value!
Have you tried the Baby Lips range? What's you're favourite?
