You may have seen my recent post where I invited you to meet our two new kittens - Felix and Bella (if you didn't, then please go ahead and click that post to read it!) Anyway, I know it's Christmas and we were all out being crazy shoppers and getting all in a tizz about buying gifts for our loved ones - family and friends. One thing we tend to forget about is treating our pets to something at Christmas time, after all, they are our family really! I bought our kittens some new toys and some tasty treats for Christmas. One thing I was kindly sent was one of the Purrboxes - a monthly box which very conveniently fits through your letterbox, and is filled with toys and treats for Cats!

You can sign up to Purrboxes for a charge of £9.95 (including delivery) per month and they are usually dispatched around the middle of the month, and are sent via Royal Mail 1st Class post, so they arrive pretty quickly. As I said, they are conveniently sized to fit through most standard letterboxes, so no need to worry if you're at work during the day - it will be waiting for you when you get home!

When you sign up to Purrboxes, you will have to fill in a profile about your cats/kittens to make sure the treats inside your box will be suitable for them! This will also give you chance to tell them your cats names, so that they will be on your address label on the box! Such a cute little thing! Each Purrbox will be filled with a selection of  TOYS, TREATS, CAT GRASS, CATNIP, THE BOX(to play in) and the monthly PurrPost newsletter.

Purrboxes are GOOD FOR YOU - to play with and spend quality time with your cat, which in turn reduces stress and makes you happier! GOOD FOR YOUR CAT - Excercise and treats in moderation help your cat to live a healthy life and avoid obesity, diabetes and arthritis! GOOD FOR YOUR HOME - we've learnt all about the havoc that a couple of kittens can cause to your home so far! So the selection of treats and toys can help keep your cat stimulated and interested, which saves other items from unwelcomed attention!

The DECEMBER BOX was filled with some lovely festive treats; a packet of Tantalising Turkey Dreamies, Webbox Cat Delight Turkey & Sausage Festive Cat Sticks, a cute Christmas Tree play toy, a packet of Catnip to put inside the Teddy Bear Play Toy, and then a couple of compost pellets, and a packet of Cat Grass to grow your months supply of grass! Finally there was a little treat for me in the form of a Fox's Glacier Mint (apparently cats like minty breath??)

Anyway, overall I was quite impressed with the contents of the December PurrBox! And so were Felix and Bella, because as soon as it arrived they couldn't wait to get it open! They particularly liked to carry around the bear and the tree toys with the catnip inside and they really enjoyed their festive food! You can subscribe to PurrBoxes here!

Blogmas Day 23 | Winter Florals & Festive Nails

Sorry that this post is rather late, but I did so well with Blogmas and only missed the last two days of it, so wanted to complete it by posting the posts which I had in mind anyway, so I hope this is okay!

I recently got this gorgeous floral swing/skater dress from Eles Clothing who are a UK based wholesale retailer of High Street branded clothing at discounted prices! I like Eles clothing because they are based in the UK so delivery is much quicker than buying from other wholesalers I've come across usually based in China!

I couldn't believe the quality of this dress when it arrived, and also how accurate the sizing is! I ordered a size 12 which fits perfectly - and the skater style is quite flattering as it doesn't emphasise any chubby bits(ideal for when we all gain a couple extra pounds after we've over-indulged on festive food haha) It's made of lovely thick material, and the colours are beautiful and it washes well too without fading! The dress is a really good length too, ideal for wearing with leggings(my usual attire). I wore this dress to go Christmas shopping with my family, and it was super comfortable along with a pair of flat black boots.

Finally I thought I'd show you how I painted my nails for Christmas, I used Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in "Pomegranate" all over, and then used last years Barry M Limited Edition Christmas Glitter polish on an accent nail! So simple yet really cute.

What do you think about florals during the A/W months?

Blogmas Day 22 | My Christmas Jumpers! Primark / Store Twenty One

blogmas, blogmas 2014, fbloggers, christmas, christmas jumper, primark christmas jumper, bambi christmas jumper, disney christmas jumper, store twenty one, gingerbread man jumper, bambi, disney clothing, disney primark, cute christmas jumper, fashion, fashion blog, fbloggersuk

This is the first year I actually decided to take the plunge and buy myself a Christmas jumper! I know in previous years I've wanted to get one but by the time it came to getting one they were all sold out or not in the right sizes I needed. Not only have I bought one this year, I've actually grabbed two Christmas jumpers...

The first one is from Primark and is from their Disney branded products, and it's this adorable Bambi Christmas jumper, its more of a traditional Christmas style, with Bambi donning a red santa hat. Unfortunately this was a little pricey at £20, but I suspect this is due to the fact that it lights up? The collar around Bambi's neck is actually some little fairy lights which are multi coloured and light up in different sequences. This is so cute and I can't wait to wear it for Christmas day!

The second one I've actually already worn on the last day of work before we broke up for Christmas! Its from a place called Store Twenty One - who actually have some really lovely clothing and even some homeware! I picked the mint green shade with these cutesie Gingerbread men on it! They're all in different little outfits and colours, and it's just way too cute! I teamed it with a collared shirt to finish off the look which you can see here from my Instagram pics! This one was only £10 and it feels so warm and cosy!

Anyway yes, thats my Christmas jumpers, and I'm pretty sure these will last me a good few years at least! Let me know if you've written a post about your Christmas Jumpers! I'd love to see them :)

Blogmas Day 21 | Party Glam with Seventeen Cosmetics

It's never been more important than during the festive season to get yourself all dolled up - maybe you're heading to your works Christmas do, or a family party, or even if you're going out for Christmas Day? You'll be wearing your best dress, a pair of killer high heels and some sparkly accessories... And one of the most important things - your makeup! That's where these gorgeous products from Seventeen cosmetics come into play to get you looking Party Glam!
Available in a whopping 15 shades, you'll be sure to find the right colour for you in this range of new lipsticks! I have two beautiful party season shades in the form of "Rule Breaker" a deep berry shade, and "Date Night"a true red! Both are right on trend at the moment, and I've already worn the berry shade a couple of times! They contain Shea Butter to nourish and moisturise your lips during these cold winter months. They are long-wearing, containing lip stain, and I've found that they easily last around 6-8 hours! They are really easy to apply and look great for hours!

Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit | £5.99

I've been looking to purchase a contouring kit for quite a while now so this one couldn't have come at a better time! I cannot believe how well priced this is at just £5.99! The kit comes in its own handy compact with mirror on the inside, along with a card insert with a quick "how to" to make the best use of the kit! This is available in two shade choices "Light" and "Medium" and each come with a light shade for illuminating, and a darker shade for defining and contouring. This little kit will be sure to give you a perfected chiseled look this Christmas!

Seventeen Brows That Brow Kit | £5.99

They do say that the brows are the most important accessory for your face. So you should definitely groom and define your brows! This handy little kit will make easy use of that, as it contains everything you need to give your friends some serious brow envy! Again this kit comes in its own handy compact with an internal mirror and a "how to" card. Inside there are 3 pans; fixing gel, a brow coloured powder, and a light champagne shade to highlight and emphasise the shape of your brows! There are also a brow pencil and an applicator brush inside! The only criticism I have is that there only appears to be one shade choice in the brow kit.

Seventeen Jewel Heist Eye Palette | £5.99

Absolutely love the outer case on this one! The jewelled outer case really gives it a glamorous look - perfect to pop in your clutch bag for touch ups throughout the night. The circular compact has an internal mirror, and contains 4 eyeshadow pans. I received the palette called Jewel Heist, and it contains a gorgeous topaz blue, a muted dusky pink/beige, a shimmering champagne shade, and finally a deep true black for definition along the lash line I'm assuming? Anyway this palette will definitely get its use, even if the blue will be worn rarely!

The gorgeous pair of limited edition nail polishes are part of Seventeen's jewel range, of which they are suitably named "Sapphire" and "Garnet" Each polish is a wonderful deep shade which applies easily and streak-free to provide a high shine gel like finish without paying salon prices!

Last, but certainly not least are these life saver glitter nail tips in black glitter. Now for the lazy ones amongst us, these are ideal to pair with the gel colour nail varnishes to give your nails a bit of extra sparkle without any hassle.

Blogmas Day 20 | "Unwrapped" The Soap and Glory The Next Big Thing Gift Box By Hattie Stewart

I wrote about this gorgeous Soap and Glory Christmas gift set in a blog post a few days back, where I informed you all (not that you didn't already know and were already eagerly awaiting the release) that the Soap and Glory "The Next Big Thing" Gift box was on offer as Boots Star Gift of the week, and was reduced from £60 to £29! Bargain!

Anyway my mom asked me what I would like for Christmas this year, and this was literally the only thing I could think of, as I can't normally afford to buy the Soap and Glory products throughout the year, so it will be a nice treat to try these after Christmas! So yes, I headed over to Boots to grab one of the last few left on the shelves on Thursday this week as my Mom wasn't able to get to the shops in time. Naturally I snapped a few pics of the gift set before I had to give it to my mom to wrap up for Christmas lol ;)

The beautifully packaged gift set from Soap & Glory has been designed/illustrated by Hattie Stewart, and contains a whopping TEN FULL SIZED PRODUCTS! Meaning you'll be hard pushed to find another set of this size for this price! This usually is priced at £60, but I managed to grab it for just £29! I have totted up the values of the products if bought individually and they are actually worth £76. So a really great deal!

Here's a quick breakdown of the products included:

HAND DREAM™ Super Cream 100ml
ORANGEASM™ Body Wash 500ml
BUTTER YOURSELF™ Moisture Lotion 500ml
HEEL GENIUS™ Foot Cream 125ml
SUGAR CRUSH™ Body Scrub 300ml
WHIPPED CLEAN™ Shower Butter 250ml
SEXY MOTHER PUCKER™ Lip Lacquer in Charm Offensive 7ml
THICK & FAST™ Super Volume Mascara 10ml
OFF YOUR FACE™ 3 in 1 Daily Purifying Cloths (25 cloths)

I honestly cannot wait to get my hands on this (to keep) on Christmas Day! And I'm sure that any of you who have this gift set already are really enjoying it! Let me know which is your favourite product? Or if there's something you wish had been included in the gift box?

Blogmas Day 19 | StyleLux Blackhead Killer Gift Box

StyleLux Blackhead Killer Gift Box | £89.00

A little while back I reviewed the StyleLux Blackhead Killer Peel Off Face Masks and from my review you could tell that I really liked the product and would definitely recommend. So when Stylelux offered me the opportunity to review their latest release... the Blackhead Killer Gift Box I couldn't refuse!

The Blackhead Killer Gift Box is a little on the pricey side at £89.00 so it's definitely more of a luxury beauty buy, but it contains 3 excellent quality products;

Blackhead Killer Facial Cleanser this renewing cleanser is designed to wash away impurities that clog up your pores and prevents blackheads from forming. It is suitable for all skin types and leaves your skin feeling refreshed, cleansed and soft/smooth. It also prepares your skin for the rest of the treatments in the gift set.

The Blackhead Killer as I already mentioned I've written a full review on this face mask which you can check out here if you like? But a quick rundown is that it is a revolutionary product in the form of a thick black gel, which you apply to your face, leave to dry and then peel off afterwards. In doing so you remove blackheads, impurities and excess oil in minutes! Leaving your skin super soft and also prevents blackheads in the future.
The Blackhead Killer Face Moisturizer This is the ideal moisturiser to finish off the treatment as it hydrates your skin and closes your pores. It also reduces redness and irritation, which is very important because when I tried the face mask I did find that the peel off mask irritated my skin a little.
Anyway, this is a fantastic kit, and ideal for anyone who suffers with blackheads, or even as a luxury skin treatment for the beauty lovers in your life! In all honesty, it really does work, and if it works then 99% of the time it's worth paying a little more!

Blgomas Day 17 | Degustabox December Review

You may have caught my last review of the November Degustabox, but if you didn't let me fill you in. Degustabox is a monthly subscription service, different to any other I've tried previously. The subscription costs £12.99 per month including delivery and you receive a box packed with between 9 and 14 tasty treats/drinks. This month's box arrived earlier than normal due to the Christmas period, however I was disappointed because I would have expected some festive/Christmas related products to be inside the box... maybe some mince pies. Anyway with this minor setback aside, the products in the box all look great, and I can't wait to incorporate some of them into meals and just for snacks in general. Drinkswise there was a bottle of Eisburg non-alcoholic wine, some Pukka Clean Green Tea, and four cans of Glo Worm Stimulant Drinks. I received a bottle of Fry Light Infuse Garlic Spray which I've already used to fry some mushrooms in and it tasted delicious, along with a Kent's Kitchen Meal Kit as savoury/cooking products. And finally, my favourite parts, the snacks! This month there were two packets of Bahlsen Biscuits - in Chocolate and Caramel flavourings, which I can't wait to get my teeth into! A large bag of Sweet Chilli Popchips, and a jar or coarse shred orange Marmalade from Bonne Maman. Finally there was a packed of Chia - Oats & Chia. I've tried Chia before, and its useful to pop into meals whilst you are cooking, or just to add into snacks as it is a very high source of protein. Again, as promised by Degustabox, the values of the products inside exceed the cost price of the box, so I'm happy, and can definitely see myself making use of all the products in the December Degustabox

Blogmas Day 16 | Five Festive Films

One of the best things to do to get you in the Christmas spirit is to relax with your family in front of a roaring fire, with a nice hot cup of cocoa and a mince pie and watch a festive film together! I thought it would be a nice idea to share with you some of my favourite Christmas films today! I do already own some of these films on DVD, however I might be popping out to grab some more to watch over the holidays! :)

The Muppets Christmas Carol
"The Muppets perform the classic Dickens holiday tale, with Kermit the Frog taking on the role of Bob Cratchit, the put-upon employee of miserly Ebenezer Scrooge (Michael Caine). Other Muppet repertory players such as Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear and Sam the Eagle weave in and out of the tale, as Scrooge is visited by three spirits who show him the error of his self-serving ways. But the stubborn, miserable old man is seemingly past any hope of redemption."

Love Actually
"Follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England."

The Grinch
"In this live-action adaptation of the beloved children's tale by Dr. Seuss, the reclusive green Grinch (Jim Carrey) decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville. Reluctantly joined by his hapless dog, Max, the Grinch comes down from his mountaintop home and sneaks into town to swipe everything holiday-related from the Whos. However, the bitter grump finds a hitch in his plans when he encounters the endearing Cindy Lou Who."

Home Alone
"When bratty 8-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) acts out the night before a family trip to Paris, his mother (Catherine O'Hara) makes him sleep in the attic. After the McCallisters mistakenly leave for the airport without Kevin, he awakens to an empty house and assumes his wish to have no family has come true. But his excitement sours when he realizes that two con men (Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern) plan to rob the McCallister residence, and that he alone must protect the family home."

"Buddy (Will Ferrell) was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised to adulthood among Santa's elves. Unable to shake the feeling that he doesn't fit in, the adult Buddy travels to New York, in full elf uniform, in search of his real father. As it happens, this is Walter Hobbs (James Caan), a cynical businessman. After a DNA test proves this, Walter reluctantly attempts to start a relationship with the childlike Buddy with increasingly chaotic results."

These Are the Nail Polish Removers That Work Best

You have your outfit coordinated from clothing, accessories, and a pair of standout shoes, and all that's missing is a great manicure and pedicure. However, taking off old nail polish can be a struggle, which is why you'll want to use the best nail polish remover out there.

All nail polish removers can be put into two categories: acetone based and everything else. While acetone works well, it can dry out your nail beds and smells terrible. As a result, alternatives, which can match acetone's performance, are popping up.

Acetone based options:
While it is an acetone based remover, Cutex Advanced Revival Nail Polish Remover has natural oils added to help prevent excessive drying. Available at most beauty stores, it's also a very affordable option.

Like Cutex Advanced Revival, ULTA's product is also superbly affordable. For maximum results, make sure that you're skipping cotton balls and using cotton pads instead.

Acetone free alternatives:
You may frequently find this product in nail salons as it's a remover, a cleaner, and a prep for nail polish. An added bonus: the scent the product leaves behind is very pleasant.

Fans of Naturally Clean by Essie love how it leaves their nail beds feeling moisturised after use. Additionally, it's a great value for the money and thus is a hot buy for those on a budget.

These wipes are a little on the pricier side, but there's almost no product that works better. Besides containing a great nail polish remover, the wipes are perfectly designed to hold up to tough abuse. If you can't use them for every time, consider keeping some on hand when you're in a time crunch or have glitter polish to remove.

Of course, if after trying a top quality nail polish remover, you're still having a really hard time removing your nail polish, perhaps you'd fare better with a different method. The aluminium foil method, while awkward and time consuming, is the full-proof way to remove even the most stubborn polish.

Blogmas Day 14 | LBD or LRD for the Party Season?

For years and years it has been concieved that there is nothing classier or sexier than the classic LBD (Little Black Dress). It is the choice of dress for many of us, and for a range of occasions, whether it be formal officewear, or a glam night out dress, and as far as I'm concerned, the LDB will never go out of fashion. However, The Outnet - A designer dress company recently posed the question "when it comes to dressing for the party season, is it the LBD or the LRD (Little Red Dress) your ideal go-to dress?"

Obviously red is a much more festive, Christmas-sy colour than black, so with this in mind I thought this would be a good idea for a post topic during #Blogmas as I'm sure a lot of us will be planning what to wear for our work's Christmas do, or a family party, or even what to wear on Christmas Day!? Here are my favourite picks of both red and black party dresses!

LRD - Lipsy Zip Detail Peplum Dress

LBD - Millie Mackintosh Boucle Flippy Hem Dress

LRD - Chi Chi London Hayden Dress

LBD - Aftershock London Alisia Dress

LRD - Little Mistress Red Embellished One Shoulder Dress
LBD - No 1 Jenny Packham Designer Embellished Flapper Dress

I love all the red dresses I've found whilst browsing, and the ones I've included in this post are stunning! However, I am just one of those people who can't seem to pull off wearing the colour red, so I think I will always be an LBD lady! What will you be wearing this party season?

Blogmas Day 13 | #NextmasWishlist My Christmas Wish List

I was recently contacted and asked if I would like to enter the #NextmasWishlist competition and thought it would be a great idea to include as one of my Blogmas posts this year! The idea of the competition is to create a wishlist post featuring products from the Next website and submit your entry to the Next Blogger Noticeboard. The winner will receive 1 of the items from their wishlist, so I thought this would definitely be worth entering! Maybe you would like to enter too? But hurry because entries must be submitted by 15th December 2014. And without further ado, here is my wishlist in entry to the competition! *Fingers crossed*...

Next Blanket Coat I love how this is a coat but not quite a "proper" winter coat. The Pattern and colours are gorgeous and it looks super cosy for the cold winter months.

Next Reindeer Christmas Jumper How adorable is this reindeer Christmas Jumper? I love the bright red colour and would look really cute teamed with a black skater skirt and some red lipstick on Christmas day!

Next Berry Lace Dress I'm in love with the colour of this dress, berry and burgandy shades are my absolute fave for A/W! I think this dress would be ideal for a Christmas party, and the lace detailing is stunning. It also looks just about the right length too, because I hate it when dresses are too short!

Next Interlaced Back Panel Western Boots If there's one thing I need, its a nice new pair of winter boots, and although these probably won't be too practical if its snowing or icy outside, they will look gorgeous teamed with your favourite denim jeans and chunky knit jumper on a cold day! I love the interlaced detailing on the back - it just adds a little something to what would otherwise be another pair of black boots.

Next Mini Structured Wing Tote Bag I always struggle with handbags, because I don't have the need for a large bag anymore, and I like something that I can carry on my arm or swing over my shoulder if need be, so this gorgeous mini tote bag would be ideal, and it comes in an adorable pastel pink shade which would be great for summer too!

Next Pink Buttoned Through Flannel Pyjamas I always seem to get at least one pair of new PJ's for Christmas - but it wouldn't be Christmas otherwise would it haha! Anyway the check pattern on these pink flannel pyjamas is super cute, and you could team them with a cute pair of wooly winter bootie socks to keep you really cosy at night!!

Next Premium Flower Statement Necklace Statement necklaces are a must for A/W! They just add a little bit of sparkle to all the dull and dreary colours and shades. This particular one would look gorgeous with your party dresses, or even just with a sweater to add the finishing touches to your outfits!

Next Metallic Trapeze Sweater I've already mentioned that I love Burgandy shades during this season, and that's probably why this gorgeous waterfall burgandy sweater caught my eye whilst browsing through the selection of knitwear. It has a metallic look to it, perfect for the festive season, it looks like it would be super flattering to your figure, and also it looks like it would be long enough just to pop on with a pair of leggings without any embarrasing "pants showing through your leggings" moments occurring to passers by!

Next Just Pink Perfume I'm pretty sure this is one of my mom's favourite fragrances, and I couldn't help but include this on here because the bottle and packaging look gorgeous, and of course it smells amazing! I think it looks quite similar to the pink Miss Dior fragrance too... or is that just me?

Anyway, that's my #Nextmas wishlist, I hope you enjoyed reading, and do leave me a comment if you decide to do the post too!

Blogmas Day 12 | Meet Felix & Bella

lauras all made up uk pet blog cat blog kitten blog, meet felix and bella

If you follow me on Instagram / Facebook you will already have noticed these two popping up in recent posts/updates... If not, let me introduce you to my two beautiful 9 week old kitties...

Felix and Bella ❤

Before anyone starts judging me, saying stuff like "oh that's just a Christmas present, and a cat is for life not just for Christmas...." and "why have you had kittens when there are tonnes of cats in shelters that need re-homing" I know. I am fully aware of all this, however you may want to read this little introduction first as to why and how we have these kittens in the first place...

A little while ago I shared this post with you all with the news of a surprise arrival, despite already owning one tabby cat (who is called Bob and is now about 5 years old) we took in another young stray cat when I still lived at my parents house. Although she was very small and we thought she was still a kitten, we later found out she was pregnant and she gave birth to four beautiful little kitties! Unfortunately I was already preparing to move into my first house at this stage, so I did miss a lot of them whilst they were growing up and I thought we were going to have to re-home them all because my parents were adamant that they were not keeping any of them and we are living in a rental property so couldn't take them either.

However, our Landlady has very kindly allowed us to have pets in the house! So we went and picked up our troublesome twosome last weekend... They were just over 8 weeks old when we took them away from mom cat which is a reasonable age to do so after reading through several forums and blogs!... not to mention they were already running around like crazy, and they were eating and drinking normal kitten food, and only feeding from their mother for comfort purposes. So we set about the short car journey to bring them into our new home, which they did not enjoy at all! However, they soon made themselves at home once they were set free from their carry basket.

Once we had taken these two, my parents have "allowed" my younger brother and sister to keep the remaining two kittens as early Christmas presents, and are also keeping the mom cat too! My Sister Sarah has already written about her kitten on her blog which you can read here if you like? So all round good news!

There were three grey and white kittens in the litter and only one black and white like the mother, and we have had the one of each. The black and white we believe to be a male, and we have named him Felix - because he looks just like Felix The Cat on the TV ads and cat food packaging! The grey and white cat we think is female, and I originally wanted to call her Misty or Smokey or something along those lines because she is grey, but whilst searching for cat names I came across Bella and thought it would be perfect for her.

So far, although we have only had them for a week they have been up to lots of mischief... They run up and down the stairs so fast and are so noisy! They like to use our legs as scratching/climbing posts, they have been climbing the curtains and Christmas tree, and their favourite thing to do is play with the keyboard on my laptop before sitting on it and falling asleep! Here are a couple of pics of what they've been up to so far...

I wanted to introduce these two beautiful babies to you all, and I'll definitely be keeping you updated with them as we go along, and hopefully will have plenty of photos and maybe even some funny videos to show you too!

Thanks for reading!
