Weekend Haul | Primark, Yankee Candle, Good Things, Bourjois, MUA, NYC, Barry M, Right Guard

Primark Black Peplum Tee - £1
I thought this was a perfect basics item, it will pretty much go with anything, especially for work outfits etc. I'll probably put a black vest top underneath too as it's rather see through. But the Peplum just adds a little bit of style to a basic outfit. :) This was originally meant to be £4 but was reduced to just £1.

Primark Burgandy Brown Padded Coat - £13
I was in need of a new Autumn coat, as the weather is not quite cold enough to wear a huge winter coat yet. I absolutely love the colour of this one, and when I saw the bargain price I just had to pick it up! They also had it in a navy blue(which my sister bought) and black The fur collar super cosy perfect for snuggling up to against the wind! The fur is detachable so the coat is easy to wash too.

Black Floral Dress - £5
I have these dresses in a variety of colours and patterns now, they are all priced at just £5 too! This one I've picked up has a cute floral design and 3/4 length sleeves. The shape is really flattering and I find they are perfect for work because they are a decent length for me too, and worn with a pair of thick black tights and dolly shoes, simple.

Leather Sleeve Cobalt Blue Skater Dress - £5
I absolutely adore the colour of this dress. I'm not normally one to buy bold/bright clothes and I'm not usually a fan of leather detailing either. But this dress actually seems quite understated, so I think I'll get away with it. It will look gorgeous with a pair of black tights and a big statement necklace for a night out!

Boots - £15
I decided it was about time I bought a proper pair of winter boots, I'm forever wearing Ugg boots, but when its raining/snowing they just aren't suitable. This is where these beauties will come in handy! I picked these because they are a really nice height up my calves and they fit nice and snug. I know they are basic black boots, but I think the gold zip and buckle detail adds that little extra style to them.

Bracelets - £2
These were an instant purchase for me as soon as I saw the cute little owl charm on one of the bracelets, not much to say about them other than that really... but they will add that little something to any outfit :)

Silver Heart Pendant - £2
I've been wearing this necklace a lot since I've bought it, especially because I've been wearing a lot of high necked jumpers lately, and this just adds a bit of jazz to a boring old jumper!

Owl Candle £2.50 / Cupcake Candle £2
I love love love Primarks Home section lately! They have such cute items from bedding to accessories for the home, these candles were too cute to miss! So I grabbed one of each. They will make great little trinket boxes once the candles have burnt out. The owl one is vanilla scented, and the cupcake one is strawberry cheesecake scented, they smell amazing!

Yankee Candle Summer Scoop Tumbler - £7.46 (Usually around £10)
Sticking with the theme of candles, this is my first proper sized Yankee Candle, my mom bought it me. It was in the reduced section at Clintons probably because it was part of the summer collection. It smells absolutely gorgeous, but it's just too pretty to light just yet, so I will just admire it for a while ;)

Yankee Candle 2 Votive & Holder Gift Set - £9.99 (3 for 2 Gifts at Boots)
I saw that Boots stocked Yankee Candles a couple of weeks back, not sure whether its just part of their Christmas Gifts range? However, this little gift set is so cute, I purchased one for my mom for her birthday along with a Soap & Glory gift set, and then picked up another one to keep for myself, all on Boots 3 for 2 gifts offer! Bargain. The little holders are lovely too :) The Honey Blossom candle smells beautiful! Overall, a perfect Christmas gift idea!

I haven't purchased any MUA products for a while, but when I saw this new palette in Superdrug I snapped it up as it was the last one on the shelf. All the shades in this palette are so useable and really well pigmented. Again, another great MUA release. I'll review this in more detail soon.

Bourjois Radiance Healthy Mix Foundation - Currently £7.99 at Boots (Usually £9.99)
I do not know why I've only just tried this foundation!? I've read endless amazing reviews on the product, and I can see why... it's definitely my new favourite foundation, and the shade match is really good for my skin too.

Another purchase which has quickly worked its way into my favourites. First of all the apple scent is delicious. The pink colour is super pretty, and the product is actually really moisturising for my lips. I'll review this in more detail soon.

Good Things Ultra Rich Creamy Scrub - Reduced to £2.50 (Normally £4.99)
I recently purchased a range of Good Things skincare products and am really loving using them, this was in the reduced section at my local Boots store for some reason, maybe because it was old stock? It's a really nice face scrub for my skin because its really gentle and creamy so its not too rough on my skin, but still has the exfoliation. One of the nice things about Good Things products are the scent, really fruity and fresh.

Right Guard Shower + Lotion - £1 (Poundland)
This is part of the 3 new Shower + products by Right Guard. I have since purchased the Shower + Oils and Shower + Nutrients, and let me tell you, I absolutely love all 3 of them! This particular one has a pomegranate scent, a lovely way to wake up with your morning shower, and contains a moisturising lotion effect. My skin feels lovely and soft after using these!

Barry M Lipgloss - £1 (Poundland)
This is the first time I've ever found Barry M products in Poundland. I think this shade could be "Coral", its a gorgeous shade and really pigmented too.

I don't very often do a weekend haul post, but I thought I'd share with you a few bargains and new products I've picked up. This was last weekends shopping buys, I did do a "little" bit of shopping yesterday too, so I can do another post next week if you'd like? Let me know if this is something you'd like to see? I stocked up on a couple of winter clothes items :)

Nail Art| Kitty Cats & Polkadots

Nail Art Cats Kittens Polkadot Animals Cute Pretty
Nail Art Cats Kittens Polkadot Animals Cute Pretty
Nail Art Cats Kittens Polkadot Animals Cute Pretty
I then unintentionally matched my outfit to my nails for work the next day haha!

Just a very quick post today because unfortunately my laptop broke on me last night so I'm having to use my half hour "dinner break" at work to type up this post :( I'm really hoping to get a Macbook or an iMac!

I wanted to share with you a nail design which I did after seeing it on google! I love cats and I love nails. So why not mix the two?

I thought this design was quite simple at first, but it did get a bit tedious with the polkadots!

How To:
I used OPI Nail Envy Original as a base coat.
I then covered all (except my accent nails) with two coats Barry M Matte White
I then used this polish again to create cat shaped heads at the tops of my accent nails as shown.
I then used my dotting tools (bought off ebay - LINK) to create the polkadots using Barry M Black & the cats eyes & nose.
I then used Models Own Nail Pen Black to create the cats mouth.
I used some cheap nail pens to add the blue eyes and pink inner ears.
Then finished off with my fave top coat from Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

Do you like this design?
(I did, until someone told me it looked more like Bolt - The dog from the Disney film...

Oh well! Either way, cat or dog I think its cute :)

Winter Coats - Phase Eight

Hi everyone!

I was recently contacted by the lovely Charlotte on behalf of Phase Eight asking if I would like to take part in their Style a winter coat blogger competition. You might have read my last post about winter coats for this year, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to show you a few more options and also to enter into the competition :) You can enter the competition yourself, however entries need to be submitted HERE before 4pm today!

I was browsing through the Phase Eight website and found so many gorgeous pieces that I found it really hard to create just one look. So, I did three... One for a casual look ie. shopping, another for work wear, and the last for a night out or party.

Phase eight style a winter coat competition, winter coat 2013

If you're going shopping you need to be both comfortable and stylish and I think the Linda Wadded Jacket pulls this off perfectly! I love the variety of textures on the coat, there is the quilted effect and suede look shoulders which are both complimented well by the gold button and zip detailing. For the rest of the outfit, I chose some fitted jeans and a plain long sleeve top. The boots have a small heel to add a bit of glamour, but still look super comfy! Then to finish off I chose the check scarf to tie all the colours in together.

Phase eight style a winter coat competition, winter coat 2013

For work, you need something stylish but understated. I chose these grey flared trousers which are ideal for any day at the office as they are so practical and versatile. They are then styled with the Pussybow blouse which is so cute! The black ankle boots again have a small heel but still comfortable, perfect for trudging to work in the rain or light snow when the dreaded winter weather comes! The gorgeous little earrings add some sparkle to the outfit too. The Leila Luxe Collar Coat completes the whole look, its very formal and feminine looking due to the fit and flare, also a bold statement piece to brighten up those dull days!

FLAVIA DRESS/JEWEL SATIN PEEPTOE SHOE/JEWEL CLUTCH BAG/FERN FAUX FUR JACKET/SIAN TIERED DROP NECKLACE

Finally "It's party time!" I absolutely LOVE this outfit by the way! It's totally my style and something I'd wear if I was attending a party. I'm sure a lot of you will be going to Christmas parties in the upcoming months, whether it be with family, friends or even the works do. So perfect time to get all dressed up! There really are some stunning dresses over at Phase Eight which I'd definitely recommend checking out.

I chose the Fern Faux Fur Coat for this look because its so glamorous and luxurious. Phase Eight say "its the perfect party jacket" they couldn't have said it better! The dress I chose is so pretty with the embroidered lace effect and flared silhouette fit. The deep purple shade is gorgeous too and goes so well with the jewelled black accessories. The tiered drop necklace emphasises the neckline and shape of the dress. I then chose the jewel clutch bag and matching jewel peep-toe shoes to complete the look!

I really hope you enjoyed this post as much as I've enjoyed doing this...I love creating outfit collages! :)

Beauty Advent Calendars 2013 - Boots, Ciate, Benefit, Selfridges, You Beauty

YOU CAN VIEW MY UPDATED BEST BEAUTY ADVENT CALENDARS 2014 BLOG POST BY CLICKING HERE!!

I know what you're probably thinking upon seeing the title of this post...Christmas is ages away, right??

Wrong! I realised the other day that we only have 2 more paydays until the big day arrives "Oh No!"

Best Beauty Advent Calendars 2013 Boots Ciate, Selfridges, YouBeauty, Benefit

Anyways, I've been browsing around for ideas for Christmas gifts etc, and I came across a few advent calendars from various brands/companies which I wanted to share with you all. Whether you are looking to treat yourself, or looking for a gift to treat someone special before Christmas, these would be perfect...

Boots Beauty Advent Calendar 2013 Review Contents

"Wake up every morning to a new beauty treat and fill the month of December with gorgeous gifts to pamper yourself from head to toe. Featuring brands such as; Soap & Glory, Nails Inc, Paco Rabanne, Juicy Couture, Rimmel, Mavala, Umberto Giannini and many more...."

I think this advent calendar looks absolutely fab and I was expecting it to retail at a lot more than £30. You get 24 treats from top beauty brands both full and sample sizes which come to a total value of over £65!! If you're planning on purchasing this calendar but want to know exactly what's in it first, I've found a *Spoiler* on The Sunday Girls Blog ;)

This calendar is obviously available exclusively at Boots stores and online - LINK.

Ciate Mini Mani Advent Calendar 2013 Contents Review
Ciate Mini Mani Advent Calendar - £42

"Every girl's diary can now be filled with a daily dose of delectable mini nail treats, as behind each door lies a very colourful surprise. Gorgeously packaged with seventeen of Ciaté's bestselling miniPaint Pots, four mini Caviar blends, and three extremely special exclusive Paint Pot glitter shades you'll not find anywhere else, ever."

The calendar contains 17 of the best-selling shades in mini Paint Pots, 4 mini Caviar blends, and 3 exclusive Paint Pot Glitter shades.

I remember lusting after last years Ciate Calendar but never getting round to purchasing. Probably a good job really considering I already have an outrageous amount of nail polishes. But this calendar would make the perfect gift for Ciate and nail art fans. This calendar won't be around for long going by last years sell out time, so get your hands on it today.

It's exclusively available at Selfridges stores and online - LINK

Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar 2013 Review Contents

Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar - £84

"Selfridges' exclusive bijoux Christmas advent calendar brings you the best in beauty. From Viktor & Rolf, Yves Saint Laurent, Kiehl's and Giorgio Armani to Lancôme and Maison Martin Margiela, you can discover a precious treat behind every door to make you dazzle, sparkle and shine this festive season."

This calendar really is a little on the pricey side, however it contains some really high end and luxurious products including fragrance, make up and skincare from some of the worlds biggest beauty brands. There are a fair few products from Lancome, which is highly rated by many beauty bloggers, so I guaruntee whoever receives this will not be disappointed!

Again this calendar is exclusively available at Selfridges stores and online - LINK.

Benefit Beauty Advent Calendar 2013 Countdown To Love Review Contents

Benefit Advent Calendar -Countdown To Love - £50

"Our one-of-a-kind advent calendar comes in a show-stopping Pop Art box and is filled with 24 fun and flattering beauty treasures! It contains a bevy of Benefit bestsellers and three glitzy little look goods…a charm necklace & bracelet and an adorable barrette. It’s the gift that gets more gorgeous every day!"

Although this is Benefit's first ever advent calendar I think this little gem will be high on most beauty fanatics christmas lists this year! The few products I have tried from this brand I absolutely love, so I would definitely recommend this. Not only does the calendar include beauty items, it also has a charm bracelet, a necklace and a barette. The £50 price tag may seem a little expensive but contains some of the best-selling benefit products. So well worth it! Perfect for a Benefit enthusiast or even someone who is new to the brand to sample some of their products!

You can view the full list of products included HERE.
The calendar will be available to buy from the Benefit website from early November - LINK.

"We’ve plucked some of our favourite hero products from beauty industry heavyweights Caudalie, ESPA, Dermalogica, Leighton Denny, Sisley and Stila (to name just a few), and combined them in one sensational beauty box. It’s the beauty enthusiast’s equivalent of Christmas in a box and we hope you enjoy unwrapping surprise after surprise each and every day of advent..."

You Beauty have released another calendar this year. There are 24 premium beauty and skincare products inside. The price of this calendar is a tiny £49.95 and contains an impressive £240+ worth of products.

You can purchase online at the You Beauty website HERE

Unfortunately Liz Earle are not bringing out another advent calendar this year, I missed out on the 2012 one and was hoping I could get my hands on one this year.

Will you be purchasing any of these calendars? I know I'll certainly be getting my hands on a couple soon!

Nutra Nail No Mess Express Remover Review
No Mess Express Remover Pad is an additional item (not included in the polish kit).

If you're anything like myself (all-be-it rather awkward and anti-social at times) where you like to do things and accomplish new things yourself in the comfort of your own home rather than pay extortionate prices to go to the salon and make small talk with some stranger to do them... Then you can get salon professional looking nails with this at home Gel Colour Manicure kit from Nutra Nail.

Preparation & Instructions
I spent a couple of minutes reading the instructions through before I started anything... always important to ensure you get the best results! I've seen a couple of bad reviews on this product and I couldn't understand why, most probably down to not following the instructions properly or not working quickly enough through the process! It's so simple and you get beautiful results!

I won't go into the how to's in this review as I would just be copying and pasting from the website/leaflet. However here's a couple of links you might like to check out -How it works & How to video

Application
The manicure was quick and easy to do once you've read the instructions, It took me overall about 10 minutes to complete both hands, and then took just 5 minutes to set to a rock solid finish. My nails felt really strong after application.

Appearance
Lotus is a gorgeous Hot Fuscia pink, the colour pay off is amazing! The polish finishes to a patent-leather shine which you can clearly see from the photo's above. The shine is achieved by using a special activator rather than waiting around for your nails to dry under a UV/LED light like normal treatments.

Wear Time
My manicure lasted just over 7 days before I noticed some small (not very noticeable) chipping on the top corner of one nail. The finish was still just as brilliantly shiny after this time, so I think you could easily manage between 7-10 days with the same manicure before removal.

Removal
The Nutra Nail No-Mess Express Remover is recommended to remove this polish. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with this, and would not recommend paying the extra £6.50 for this addition. "No-Mess"? I don't think so! I would instead recommend buying a bottle of pure acetone remover and trying out the Nail Polish Removal Foil Method.

Price
Each kit costs £14.99, which may seem a little expensive at first... But I think you would achieve a minimum of 5 manicures from each kit. Compared to one manicure at a salon which would probably cost you around £20 a time. You do the maths ;)

Overall
I would totally recommend the polish kit, whether it be to get ready for a special event or night out, or even just to polish up your nails ready for work etc. I'll be honest, I've never actually been to a salon to have any sort of treatment on my nails, so I don't really know how this compares but it achieves what it claims to do so I'm impressed!

There are 8 different shades available including Lotus, Sheer Natural, Sheer Pink, Pretty Pink, Vintage Mauve, Sugar Plum, Sapphire and Dahlia.

The kits and express remover are available exclusively at Boots - LINK

Have you tried this kit and what are your thoughts?

*PR Sample sent for consideration of review.

Fun Ideas & Inspiration For Halloween

Halloween 2013 Cat Pumpkin Cute Happy Halloween Candy Corn
Image source - edited by me
I know that Halloween isn't usually a huge event/festivity here in the UK compared to the extent in places such as the US, however its always nice to join in with the fun. So I thought I'd put together a few things to do with Halloween for this year. I hope you like it!

Halloween costumes and wigs 2013 Pauls Hair World
Obviously the main thing most of us will be looking for at Halloween is a fancy dress costume and accessories. Whether you're going to a party or or just a night out on the town, pretty much everyone wears something to join in the fun! There are all kinds of costumes, accessories and fun party wigs for Halloween available now so you can create your perfect costume! You can shop online at www.pauls-hair-world.co.uk

There are loads of nail designs for Halloween and inspirational ideas on the internet. If you're struggling, try checking out this Tumblr link where I've searched Halloween... Fuck Yeah Nail Art.

Yankee Candles For Halloween 2013 Spooky
I think Yankee Halloween Candles would add the perfect finishing touches to your home. Yankee have re-released some old favourites, both are dressed in spooky themed jars. One is called Witches Brew and the other Candy Corn, they retail at £16.99 each but are currently available on the "Spooky Pair" offer at 2 for £30. There are also a range of tealight and motive holders available if you didn't want to splash out on the jar candles.

UK American Style Halloween Treats Candy Sweets Trick Or Treat

Trick Or Treat? Why not treat your guests to some of these american style sweets and candy for Halloween. How cute are the cupcake kits? If you're not taking the kids trick or treating you could always join in the fun and make these together :) There's also a wide range of other sweets/lollipops/biscuits which you can't usually buy here in the UK at www.americansweets.co.uk

And that brings me to the end of this post, I hope you've enjoyed it and got a few ideas from it.
What are you up to this Halloween?

Fashion| On Trend Autumn/Winter Coats 2013

I hate to say it but that time of year is edging ever closer, the nights are getting darker earlier, we swap our dolly shoes for Ugg boots and put the fire on and snuggle up with a hot choc! Most of us are starting to think about what "winter coat" to buy. I've been browsing various websites and looking in the shops over the past couple of weeks as the new clothes begin to hit the shops for the most on trend coats for this year. It seems to me that the top coats for this year are similar to previous years...

Leather Jackets
While we are still in the warmer months of Autumn, this season is all about leather jackets! They are perfect just to give you that extra warmth but not weigh you down. I've certainly been wearing my biker style black leather jacket (which my boyfriend kindly bought for me last Christmas) a lot over the past couple of weeks. Leather jackets are so versatile because they can be worn with many styles of outfit, whether that be for a glammed up night out on the town or a casual shopping trip with the girls.

Parka Coats
As we enter the colder months, you'll be looking for something much thicker but easy to wear and style? I've decided to buy a Parka coat this year, although pretty much everyone I know already owns one. I especially like the Khaki Green ones, which I've shown in the photo above. There are many versions available on the high street and online, which have been re-invented from previous years... This includes the addition of statement pieces such as leather panels, glitter/sequin sleeves and eye-catching fur detailing. What attracts me to this style of coat most is the fact that it's easy to just throw on with pretty much any outfit but also so comfortable and snug!

You can find a wide selection of Winter Women's Parkas and Leather jackets at Mary Jane Fashion along with two more of the top trends for Autumn/Winter 2013 - faux fur jackets and military/khaki jackets. I've also noticed that Tartan appears to be making a comeback this year too!

What coat have you or are you going to purchase this Winter? Leave any suggestions below :)

My garden in the summer time, I did a quick "photo post" here

& To finish off, these were a selection of my favourite photo's I've taken over the past couple of years!

None of this would have as much impact without having healthy eyes to see them... This is why we need to:

Care
Long days in front of a computer screen, not managing to eat a balanced diet or forgetting to take your make-up off at night can all contribute to uncomfortable, irritated eyes.

Protect
We protect our skin with sun lotion and it’s just as important to protect our eyes from the sun’s glare too.

Check
Having your eyes checked at least every 2 years will not only help us to check how well you can see but also help to detect any eye or underlying health issues early on – making them easier to manage.

I for one know how important all these things are when it comes to taking care of my peepers. I'm very short sighted and can't legally drive without wearing prescription glasses. I was only told this in November last year after getting an eye check, although the year previous to this I was told my eyesight was fine. This emphasises how important it is to get your eyes checked at least every 2 years! So why not find out a little more and book your eye test today - LINK

One of the main causes for my poor eyesight (I believe) is due to my job in administration. I spend long hours in front of a computer screen, my eyes become both tired and dry. I've now started using eye drops to help with the effects of this. If like myself you spend a lot of time staring at computer screens you can try this simple rule: "A regular screen break may also help keep dry eyes at bay. Try following the 20:20:20 rule by looking 20 feet away, every 20 minutes, for 20 seconds."

I hope you've found this post interesting, it's certainly made me sit down and appreciate things a little more! Please feel free to get in touch with any questions! :)

*Post in collaboration with Boots.
