NOTD| Holographic Glitter Nail Polish Shade #4 By Born Pretty Store

Born Pretty Store have very recently released their own range of Holographic Glitter Nail Polishes. There are 12 shades altogether, and I was lucky enough to be sent one to try out and offer my thoughts.

I think I only own one other Holo polish and I've never actually used it. But this one looked such a gorgeous colour I couldn't resist! I chose shade #4, which is a coral pink shade, perfect for these hot summery days! It looks absolutely stunning in the sunlight, as you can see in the last couple of photo's, there are so many different colours visible!

The formula is really smooth and not streaky. Although I did apply two coats to get a fuller effect, you really only need one. The brush is really good too and allows easy application. Id say wear time would be pretty good as I didn't find any chips after two days of wear.

These polishes are usually $12.88, but are currently on offer for only $5.59 (Around £3.67).
You get 6ml of product for this price, which is less than usual 10ml. But its quite a cute little pot :)
Born Pretty Store offer FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING!
There's also a 10% off discount code in my sidebar to use on anything on the website! :)

P.S The Gold Hollow Leaf Ring is also from Born Pretty Store - LINK
It's available in gold or silver. Total bargain too at only $0.99(65p)!

NOTD| Essie Bikini So Teeny

NOTD Essie Bikini So Teeny Review & Swatches
NOTD Essie Bikini So Teeny Review & Swatches

Essie Bikini So Teeny was released as part of the Essie Summer Collection 2012, and I remember it causing quite a stir around the beauty blogging world! Despite all the hype, I only got my hands on it around a month ago when I purchased it from Fragrance Direct for the reduced price of only £1.99!

I would describe it as a creamy, pastel bluebell shade. I was a little surprised with the fact that if you look into the bottle you can see glitter specks, yet when painted onto the nails, this effect is barely noticeable. I found that the brush is really easy to work with as it's dense and flat, so gives super quick and easy coverage of the nail. It takes at least two coats to become opaque but does not dry streaky or patchy.

I really love this shade, and I know it will be well used throughout the Summer of 2013, even if I am a year too late jumping on the bandwagon!

What shades can you recommend trying out from Essie?

Pink Tease Neutral Brown/Golds Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Some of you may not know that £ shops are a fantastic place to find beauty products at bargain prices! I've found tonnes of top brands in there previously. Today I'm showing you one of my latest finds, this beautiful neutral shimmer eyeshadow palette by Pink Tease. Now I know this isn't a big/well known brand, but I love this and thought it was really good for £1?

First of all, I will say that I absolutely hate the cheap tacky packaging, but don't let this put you off from the product inside. The palette comes with its own double ended sponge applicator, although I'm not usually a fan of these its good quality. There is also a large built-in mirror, which comes in handy for "on the go" make up application.

The palette contains 10 gorgeous, natural looking shades, which are easy to work with for every day looks! Some are actually quite similar to what you'd find in the NAKED palettes! The eye shadows are surprisingly well pigmented, super smooth to apply and you barely get any fall out. I would advise using an eye primer previous to application to prolong the wear time.

Overall I'm really happy with my purchase, just shows what you can get when you look in places you wouldn't normally expect to find such items :) I recommend you check out your local pound shop soon, if you don't find this palette, I'm sure you'll find something that takes your fancy ;)

Have you found any bargain products lately?

Glossybox| Review & Contents June 2013

Glossybox June 2013 Review & Contents

It's been a considerable amount of time since I last reviewed a Glossybox, although I've been subscribed for over a year now. By the time I even think about reviewing one, I've already seen various reviews popping up on other blogs. However, this month I decided to review it, as I'm quite pleased with the products I received...

Glossybox June 2013 Review & Contents MONU Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15
Not all that interesting but definitely something which should become a staple product for all of us in the coming summer months. The moisturiser is quite thick, so is better suited to normal-dry skin types rather than oily like mine. It has a "herbal-like" scent to it, which is refreshing and uplifting. The sample provided is a generous 30ml, but perfect for your handbag or travelling if you're going on your holidays soon!
Glossybox June 2013 Review & Contents NUXE Huile Prodigieuse OR
NUXE Huile Prodigieuse OR - £34 for 100ml
This shimmering dry oil can be used to nourish, repair and soften your hair, face and body! This is the perfect product for summer, the golden particles work to leave you with a healthy, radiant glow. I really like the effect this oil gives, and it doesn't leave you looking greasy!
Glossybox June 2013 Review & Contents Helen E Cosmetics Eye Shimmer
Although I'm usually a "neutrals" kinda girl, this eye shimmer really took my fancy, its shade number 5 which is a dusky pink shade, easy to work with and doesn't look too OTT. I love the cute little "salt shaker" style pot it comes in. Due to the shadow being in powder form, I would advise using an eye primer before application to give more staying power! I am definitely considering trying out one of the 30+ other gorgeous shades!
Glossybox June 2013 Review & Contents Me me me nail polish
I've never tried anything from this brand before, but I'm quite impressed with the quality. I received shade 67-Graceful, which is a natural looking pearlescent pink/white colour. Ideal for a no-polish, polished look! The formula is good... it dries reasonably quick, and applies easily and streak-free with a glossy finish.
Glossybox June 2013 Review & Contents Figs & Rouge Lip Balm
I'm quite keen on Figs & Rouge in general after purchasing a couple of their lip balm tins previously. This shimmering tinted lip balm is 100% pure and natural. Its packed with anti-oxidants and conditioners. The rose tint gives a touch of glamour while still keeping the lips soft and hydrated.

That's what I received this month, what did you get & what's your favourite product?

Glossybox is a montly subscription service and costs £10 + P&P.

Ciate Mini Polish Cookies & Cream & Caviar Beads Shooting Stars Kit Free With Marie Claire Mag Review & Swatches

Free with this months Marie Claire Magazine, is this gorgeous Ciaté Caviar Nail Art Kit. I paid £3.80 for the magazine which is the usual price, however this kit is valued at £10, so well worth it in my opinion.

The kit contains 2 mini bottles. One being a nude polish called "Cookies & Cream" which is so wearable and suitable for any skin tones! The second is a a mini bottle of Caviar pearls named "Shooting Star", which contains a range of colours including gold, silver, lilac and blue. The finished combination looks stunning, and so sophisticated, unlike some previous caviar kits I've used. It's a shame my photo's don't really do it justice!

Quick steps: Paint your nails with 1 coat of the nude polish, wait for it to dry. Then when you apply a second coat, you sprinkle the beads all over while the nail polish is still wet. (I did put a plastic tray underneath my nail while I was sprinkling the beads, so you can capture them and pour them back into the bottle to use next time). Once the nails are partly dry, you should lightly press down the beads onto the nail to increase their staying power, they should be completely dry within around 10-15 mins, and you can enjoy your new manicure!

On trend, beautiful, and so simple to do :)

Happy Birthday Blog!

One year ago today I published my first post here on my little blog! (You can read my first post here). I never thought that it would even reach a year old, before I got bored, or decided this "blogging" business wasn't for me. However I've really enjoyed writing and posting here, and have spoke to some really lovely people along the way! I am always ever so grateful for each comment and new followers. I really can't believe how far my little blog has come in this time, and I hope to continue doing so for many years to come! Basically I really want to thank you all for your continued support :)

Review| NYC Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer

NYC Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer Review & Swatches
NYC Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer Review & Swatches
NYC Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer Review & Swatches

During the last month or so, I've noticed my everyday make-up products have switched up a little to make way for the warmer weather and the fact that I'm wanting to achieve a more natural look with a healthy summertime glow.

One of the main items that's found it's way back into my cosmetics bag is this Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer from NYC. I bought this primer last year, and although I really liked the effect it just didn't appeal to me much during the winter months where I wanted a fuller coverage due to harsher conditions. I picked up a new tube of it recently and have been using it every day since.

The primer is stated as suitable for all skin types, however I would find more suitable for those with normal-dry skin rather than those with oily skin types. Also, if you have considerably large pores, I would avoid using due to the fact that the shimmer effect emphasises such problem. It minimises imperfections, lines and small pores to create that perfect, radiant complexion you've been lusting after.

It's consistency is thin and runny, a small amount goes a long way and does offer reasonably good moisturisation. The liquid itself is white in colour but blends away to a translucent finish with light reflecting particles to give your skin a radiant glow, which is especially lusted after during the summer months and to those with generally dull and tired looking skin to offer a little lift!

The beauty of this product is that it can be used in so many different ways eg. underneath your foundation to create a smooth base and extend wear time, on its own as a light moisturiser with a subtle glow, or even just as a highlighter to emphasise your brow and cheek bones.

I've found that my skin feels much softer and moisturized since using this. It does help my foundation to stay put longer. My skin looks and feels healthier and more radiant.

You get a generous 30ml of product in a squeezy tube which I personally prefer to glass bottles/jars so you can get every last drop out!

Overall, for a product that costs a mere £3.49 which is so versatile and creates such a pretty effect, you really can't go wrong. It's available from Superdrug stores and online - LINK

What's your favourite "summer time" primer?

Luxury Embossed Metallic 3D Nail Stickers #1 Silver Born Pretty Store Nail Art ReviewDon't you just love a bit of nail art?
& Don't you just love it even more when its EASY NAIL ART?! Well let me introduce these pretty little things to you... The Luxury Embossed Metallic 3D Nail Art Stickers from Born Pretty Store, there are various designs to choose from, I'm reviewing #1 in Silver

I've got an enormous amount of stickers, decorations and all sorts of bits and bobs to make my nails look pretty, but I've never really tried anything like these before. In all honesty, I wasn't expecting them to work very well, as most nail stickers simply don't stick! But, I was wrong, these worked really well, and 3 days later, they are still stuck down perfectly with no peeling (I should mention that I did use my Seche Vite top coat, but I always use this for mani's anyway)

There are two designs in this set, the first being a swirly design, which I absolutely love! The second, a lace/embroidery effect I wasn't too keen on, so only used this on my accent nail. But you get the idea! I've used the stickers over two coats of MUA "Bold Blue". I think they would also look super pretty over a glittery dark nail polish? ... I'll try it soon :)

Anyway, these stickers are definitely worth a shot, and are a total bargain!

Elegant Floral & Glow In The Dark Iphone Case* - $7.99 - LINK

I always love to accessorize my phone with the prettiest and cutest cases. So it comes as no surprise that I absolutely adore this beautiful Cath Kidston style phone case from Born Pretty Store! The floral pattern and design is absolutely adorable and suits my style and taste perfectly. It's made from rubberised material and fits my phone really well, so protects my phone well from all the times I drop it! I didn't realise until the other night that the edges of the flowers glow in the dark which isn't important but its an added touch, and makes it easy to find when you wake up to check your phone in the middle of the night(hope its not just me that does this, lol)  There are quite a few designs and colours available to choose from, so you'll be sure to find one you like! :)

Haul| My Thrifty Weekend Fashion Buys

In all honesty I really haven't done a lot this weekend, despite this amazing weather we've had :(
It really disappoints me the fact that I can't go on days out or weekend breaks, basically due to the fact that my boyfriend works really shitty shifts and we can never plan anything! This explains why I never really have much to write about "my life" on this blog...

Yesterday, I went for a quick walk to my local town and had a nosey round the charity shops, this is one of my favourite things to do when I'm out shopping! Some days you can find some nice things, others you come back empty handed. Luckily, yesterday was a good day and I picked up a few things, all from one shop!

Haul - Thrifty Charity Shop Weekend Fashion Buys

Haul - Thrifty Charity Shop Weekend Fashion Buys Floral Dress
This dress by Apricot was only £1.49! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it. I checked it over several times before I bought it thinking there must have been something wrong with it for that tiny price. But there wasn't. This dress will be perfect to wear on warmer days, the floral pattern is gorgeous. It's a decent length so if I'm feeling brave I can wear it without leggings! I love the rouched waistline, and also the "V" neckline, it cuts a little low so I think I'll wear a vest top underneath!

Haul - Thrifty Charity Shop Weekend Fashion Buys Floral Skirt
This pretty floral skirt by "Be Beau" at Matalan was £1.50.
It will be perfect for me to wear to work, just with a plain t-shirt. I love the "tulip" style of it, it will emphasise my waistline which is one of the only parts of my body I like to show off!

Haul - Thrifty Charity Shop Weekend Fashion Buys Burgundy Skater Dress
This Skater dress from Select was only £3. It's made of quite thick, swishy material and feels such good quality. Not to mention, I absolutely adore the colour! This is probably more of an Autumn dress, however I'm sure I'll still wear it a few times before the weather gets too hot!

Haul - Thrifty Charity Shop Weekend Fashion Buys Leopard Tunic Matalan
Haul - Thrifty Charity Shop Weekend Fashion Buys Leopard Tunic Matalan
This tunic top from "Be Beau" at Matalan, was only £2. It's not something I would usually wear, and probably more suitable to wear over your bikini at the beach. But considering I'm not getting a holiday again this year. I'll have to just wear it with a pair of black leggings. It's made of thin material so perfect for hot days to keep you cool! The bold print is stunning and is embellished with some metallic studs, it also has a really cute bow tie at the back!
Haul - Thrifty Charity Shop Weekend Fashion Buys Floral Primark Dress
Haul - Thrifty Charity Shop Weekend Fashion Buys Floral Primark Dress
This floral dress from Primark is brand new and was only £2.50 (Originally £6) I'm pretty sure this is still in stores now? I love this style of dress, they are quite short so I always wear them with leggings, but they are perfect for a casual everyday outfit. I love the cute floral pattern, and again it has an elasticated waistline. There is also an adorable bow on the back for that extra detail!
Haul - Thrifty Charity Shop Weekend Fashion Buys New Look Monochrome Printed Scarf
Finally, this scarf from New Look was only £1. I know its getting too warm to wear a scarf now, but I liked it a lot, so had to pick it up anyway. I love the bold patterns and that its quite simple with regards to using only a few colours.

Overall, this little lot cost me only £11.50! I really like everything I've bought, its always good to grab a few bargains when you're feeling a bit down! :)
