Ikea Skurar Pots - Make Up Brush Holders?

If any of you saw my "Bedroom Tour" post , you will recognise these absolutely adorable little storage pots. I purchased them around Christmas time last year when I took my first ever trip to Ikea (which was actually to purchase the Helmer Units). The pots are described as candle holders, but I thought they would make pretty nifty make-up brush holders, so I bought a couple... especially considering the price they are an absolute steal at only £2.50 each!!

I think these are around the ideal height to use for make-up brushes, however Ikea do have a range of other pots in different styles/sizes in the Skurar range. Here are a few more products which you might find useful...

The prices range from as little as £1.75 to £6! You can view these, and more... HERE!!

The pots are metal so will last a while, and are painted in an off-white colour with lace effect detailing. Perfect to add those finishing touches to any bedroom!

So Eco Eye Brush Kit Review

"This eye brush kit by So Eco contains five different brushes used for the perfect application of eye make-up."

So Eco Eye Brush Kit Review

I know what you're all thinking, "So Eco, I've never heard of that brand before" well here's why... the So Eco range of make up brushes and tools is brand new! They're fresh from the factory and exclusively available at www.ohbeauty.co.uk at the moment. I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am to be one of the first to review and share this brand with you all!

The biggest selling points of the So Eco brushes will definitely be the fact that they are made from sustainable materials, they're recyclable (literally everything, from the products packaging to the bristles on the brushes). They are cruelty free and the brushes are cut and trimmed by hand to give them that extra special finish.

I chose the Eye Brush Kit to try out, mainly because of the fact I don't use many make-up brushes, other than for my eyes and brows, but also down to the fact that the set comes in a beautiful natural cotton wrap which is an ideal way to store your brushes! The brushes may be Eco-friendly but they are also practical and usable for every day make-up application.

The brushes themselves have handles made entirely of bamboo, and have super soft, fine bristles which make them really comfortable and easy to use. There are five brushes in the set, which includes an eyebrow comb, fine liner, shading brush, angled eye-liner brush, and a mascara brush. They are all going to become part of my daily make up bag. Although the Mascara brush will not be used as such, and will instead be used as a eyelash/ brow comb.

Overall I think these brushes are high quality, have a nice appearance/packaging, and are very competitively priced with other brush brands. There are a range of other types of brushes which you can check out on the Oh Beauty website - LINK.

& Remember, when you order from Oh Beauty, you receive FREE FIRST CLASS DELIVERY!

What do you think of this set? Will you be trying some of the brushes?

SheLikes.com is a leading on-line shopping store, which offers women's fashion items including clothes, shoes and accessories. At She Likes you are sure to find all the latest catwalk trends as soon as they hit...

I'd never actually come across She Likes before, and I've never been one for buying clothes on-line as sizes etc always vary from store to store. I was offered something from their site to try out, so I opted for a safer option, and chose these beautiful Leather Look Gold Studded Slipper Shoes.

They are flat "Slipper" style shoes, which means they are super comfortable but also stylish at the same time. The  bold, gold studs really compliment the simple nude leather look. The rubber ridged soles are of good quality, and provide a good grip. They also have a small step heel, which I can only assume will make them last much longer than other "flat" shoes.

These shoes are so versatile, and can be used to dress up a casual outfit, or dress down a formal, dressy style outfit. I can tell I'll get a lot of wear out of them, I can even wear them to work at the office!

Here's a quick outfit I've put together including them...

Black Tights (from anywhere)

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Bandeau Skater Dress! This is definitely going on my list for Pay Day!

Also, an added bonus, I received my shoes super quickly after dispatch, so no need to worry about long delivery times when you order! :)

Eye Candy London is a brand I've not tried before, but after trying out out this beautiful shade I really want to get my hands on a few more from the range!

Eye Candy London - Peppermint Dream is a creme shade of turquoise-blue with mint green undertones. The photo's above show my natural nails with a base coat and then two coats of the polish. As you can see, it offers completely opaque coverage with the 2 coats and finishes with a glossy effect.

The brush is really easy to use for smooth application, and doesn't leave any streaks or patches. The packaging is simple, yet stylish and professional looking. The clear bottle makes easy work of noticing the shade inside, and you get a generous 12ml of product.

This shade is so on trend for the upcoming Spring/Summer months. However, considering I live in the UK and we barely get any nice weather, I'm planning on wearing this shade to brighten up those dull, rainy days! ;)

You can purchase this and view the other polishes from Eye Candy at www.ohbeauty.co.uk
The price is £6 for 12ml (including free 1st class P&P with same working day dispatch if ordered before 2pm).

What do you think of this colour? & Have you tried any other Eye Candy polishes?

Dazzling Mirror Effect Foil Nails

Dazzling Mirror Glitter Nail Foil #3 - $2.99  LINK
Born Pretty Store Dazzling Nail Foils, Mirror Effect Nails

Born Pretty Store Dazzling Nail Foils, Mirror Effect Nails

I was recently contacted by Born Pretty Store and asked if I would like to choose something to review on my blog. Now you all know by now just how much I love everything to do with nails and nail design. I was amazed by the amount of nail art, nail effects, nail varnish, nail tools, nail decorations etc they have to offer. Some of the items I'd never seen or heard of before, like this mirror/dazzle foil nail sticker.

I chose colour #3 which is a pretty metallic light pink. At first I wasn't sure if I'd like the effect much, however I think it looks fabulous just used on one "accent" nail to compliment your other nail varnish. I paired it up with Essie's "We're In It Together" nail polish and they work so well together, don't you think??

The foil sticker came in a small plastic pot, which makes for easy storage, all you have to do is:
1. Unravel a piece of foil large enough to cover your nail and cut off.
2. Apply a layer of nail polish(colour of your choice),wait for it to dry completely.
3. Apply second coat, wait for it to become almost dry, so you can leave a gentle fingerprint.
4. Press the foil shiny side up, onto the nail and rub over using your finger or hoof stick.
5. Remove the foil and the pattern will be on your nail.
6. If a piece is not covered, apply coat of polish to that part and repeat from step 4.
7. Once you're happy, and nails are completely dry, apply top coat to protect the foil!

So simple, yet such a brilliant effect! And there are loads of colours to choose from so you can create so many designs, even mix up a few colours on each nail!

Each pot of foil costs only $2.99 (converts to around £1.96) & shipping is free worldwide!
You can use the discount code in my sidebar to get 10% off your order too :)

If, like me, you're a lover of the Barry M range... Then you'll certainly want to get your hands on their Gelly Hi-Shine collection! The first few were released late last year and have been added to since. These beautiful polishes claim to give you an "extra glossy finish", which I totally agree with! I've worn various shades and have had so many compliments on how nice my nails look, and even that they look as if they've been done at a salon!

All the polishes are super easy to apply with the narrow, dense brushes which allow for even, non-streaky coverage. All the polishes I've tested became 100% opaque with two coats. The formula dries very quickly, and as the name suggests, to a very high gloss finish! So you can quickly transform your nails from drab to fab without smudging and without need for a top coat, other than to prolong wear time and prevent chipping!

There is a great range of shades, from deep autumnal shades to pretty pastels and brights ready for the summer months! So you're bound to find a shade to suit you.

They retail for a mere £3.99 each for 10ml at Barry M.
They are often on 3 for 2 in Boots/Superdrug etc.

What are your favourite shades?
