If any of you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen yesterdays photo of these pretty new polishes from MUA. They gained a lot of interest so thought I'd share my thoughts on them with you all.

At first I thought that they were a completely new range of polishes, but after closer inspection I've noticed that most are the original shades (for example, I do already have "frozen yoghurt" in the original bottle which you can see where I featured it in a nail art post ~ link) just in new bottles. There are also three stunning new shades thrown into the mix(Koala Bear, Bold Blue & Lush Lilac).

The first and most obvious difference, has to be the fancy new bottles (which look very similar to the ever popular Essie polishes). Secondly, the brushes are thinner, yet denser than the originals, so you get more polish on the brush and they don't fan out, leaving you with an even, non-streaky finish! And finally, they all have a name now rather than the boring old "Shade 1,2,3 etc"

So, I picked up 4 out of the 16 shades available. The ones I picked were pretty pastel shades, perfect for the Spring trends:
Amaretto Crush - Muted, Dusky Pink
Bold Blue - (I think the name describes it perfectly)
Pistachio Ice Cream - Pale Minty Green
Frozen Yoghurt - A Lavender Purple/Blue

I don't think the formula of the polishes has changed, but with the new style brush they apply much easier and have a neater finish. The swatches shown above are with 2 coats of polish... as you can see, they are completely opaque, evenly covered, and have a slightly glossy finish. There's not a single fault I can find.

Basically, these polishes are amazing quality at a bargain price of only £1 each!

You can view/purchase the range HERE. They are also available to buy at Superdrug stores and online.

Have you picked up any of these new polishes yet, what do you think of them?

    1. I know, I don't know how they can manage to copy so many other brands. I'm not really complaining though, as this is much more on my budget! xx

  4. They're pretty much the Essie bottle lol. I like MUA but all they seem to do is copy other brands :/ which is making me dislike them more and more, however there is the flip side to this as they're more affordable for those on a tigher budget, of which we all probably find ouselves on at some point.

Thumbs up I guess if they're good quality. Nice swatches by the way, I like frozen yogurt :)

  6. I wonder if MUA will get into any trouble about bringing out such similar products to higher end brands haha? I'm not complainging though, they're so much cheaper! You chose such gorgeous shades, I will definitely be picking up some of these :) Lovely review Laura xx

    1. I did think that, especially after the Naked palettes and Revlon Lip stain dupes!

I don't think anyone would complain really, they're great quality for the price :)

      Thank you Amie xx

  7. I wish they'd come up with something original instead of just ripping off other brands?!
The brushes did need improving, though, so I'll be interested to see how good these are. Frozen Yoghurt looks gorgeous!

    1. I know, its a bit of both worlds. We all want the top brands, but I can't afford the prices. So I'm quite happy with these prices, and if they're good quality, I'm not fussed about the copying :) xx

  8. Wow, they look amazing! When I first looked at the photo I thought they were Essie bottles. These are so much nicer than the old bottles and I'm pleased the formulation and brushes are better too. x x

    1. The old bottles really didn't do them any favours, they were horrible, and the brushes were "crap" to be quite honest. Much better now! :) xx

  17. I bought my first shade the other day, I THINK it was called Fiery Red? I was really pleasantly surprised how good they were. It's lasted three days so far with minimal chipping so for a quid you can't go wrong really :)

    1. Hi Nishat,

Yes of course, I've just checked the bottles and it says 6.2ml, so they are quite small, but still good value for money! x
