When I heard that Make Up Academy had released this follow-up palette to their original "Undressed" palette (My review here) I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! It took me a good couple of weeks to find one, because it sold out as soon as they were in store! But I spotted this one sitting all alone at the back of the shelves and I snatched it up without a second thought! Especially at the very easy-on-the-purse price tag of just £4! Not to mention it's an amazing dupe for the highly raved about Urban Decay Naked 2!
MUA have tried something a little different with this palette and gone for the white packaging rather than the traditional black. I'm guessing this is just a way of identifying it along with the rest of their new "Undress Your Skin" range which comes with similar packaging. I don't really have a preference between the black or white cases, although I think the white does make it a little cheaper looking?
Another addition is the fact that each shade has a name, as opposed to numbering them. I'm definitely a fan of this as its much easier to refer to them, especially for reviewing purposes ;) haha.
The back of the palette contains a mini "master class", which again, I really like. I'm certainly no pro when it comes to make up application so I appreciate all the help I can get!
As always with the MUA palettes, it comes complete with a double ended foam applicator. This really is quite handy and of a decent quality, but down to preference whether you use this type of applicator or a brush.
Naked - A matte cream, slightly yellow toned.
Devotion - A bright metallic gold.
Shy - Similar in tone to Naked, cream but shimmer/metallic effect.
Fiery - A mid toned copper, metallic finish.
Lavish - A cool toned mid brown/beige, matte finish.
Dreamy - Deep, warm, metallic golden-brown.
Tranquil - A lighter, less orange-toned(than Devotion) gold metallic shade.
Exposed - A cool toned, "ash" grey metallic shade.
Reveal - Light silver shimmer.
Wink - A bronze metallic shade.
Obsessed - A deep brown shade, slight shimmer effect.
Corrupt - A plain black matte shade.
The shadows are well pigmented, however the matte shades lack a little with regards to colour pay-off compared to the metallic shades. But this is the case for a lot of high street matte eye shadows. So nothing much to complain about really.
My verdict? I highly recommend you buy this palette :)
Yet again, another fantastic palette from MUA. There are a really good range of decent quality shades perfect to create all kinds of natural and smoky eye looks! As I mentioned, a great dupe for the Naked 2 palette at a fraction of the price! Definitely the best £4 I've spent in a while anyway ;)
You can purchase from muastore.co.uk or at Superdrug.
(CURRENTLY ONLY £3, RRP £4)
If you've already bought the palette, what is your opinion on it?
