The Nail Varnish Tag

Favourite nail polish company?
I'd love to say OPI, however I simply cannot afford the prices they charge. So for the quality, range and price of their polishes... It has to be Barry M.

Glitter or no glitter?
Definitely glitter! The more glitter, the better I'd say :)
(Although its an absolute pain to remove)

OPI, China Glaze or Essie?
I've never tried an Essie polish, so out of the other two, I prefer OPI.

When do you change your nail polish?
I know some people have a set "pamper day" each week. I don't, so I literally change my nail polish whenever I feel like it, usually when I come up with a pretty new design or idea :)

What's your favourite colour to wear on your nails?
I love pinks, pastels, and nude shades. Mainly because I think wearing lighter shades make you look more tanned... & I like a good tan(even if it does come out of a bottle).

Darks or brights?
I like them both, so I can't really choose. However I'm not keen on really bright neon colours.

What do you have on your nails right now?
Nothing right now, I'm letting my nails breathe for a little while. I last had my Valentines Day Nail Art on, however I removed it last night as I got a bit bored of it haha.

Matte nails... In or out?
I can honestly say I've never tried a matte nail varnish. I've got a few, but never got round to trying them. But I think they may be a little out-dated now?

French Manicure?
Who doesn't love a good frenchie? Simple yet elegant :)

Favourite Winter colour?
I posted about my favourite Autumn/Winter nail varnishes HERE if you'd like to have a look!

Hope you enjoyed reading this tag as much as I've enjoyed filling it out!
If you decide to post this tag, leave your link below... I'd love to read it :)

Happy Valentines Day! - NOTD

Good Morning Girls!

I am well aware that this post is a day late, it was supposed to go up yesterday however my internet wouldn't work at home :( So here we are... better late than never ay?

Happy Valentines Day to you all for yesterday, I hope you were all showered with lovely gifts and romance! Let me know if you've written a post on what you got/what you did yesterday I'd love to read it!

I did absolutely nothing yesterday other than worked. Didn't even see my "Valentine".... So yes it was a wonderful day for me, not! However I did try and get in a bit of the spirit by painting my nails. I was actually quite impressed with how they turned out, first time too with no mistakes and re-doings for a change!

I went for a simple and elegant design, here it is....

Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat, Deborah Lippman - Razzle Dazzle, Orly - Ruby, Primark Nail Art Pen, Nail Decorations.

Let me know what you think? & If you did any nail art posts, leave a link below!

Derma V10 Range - Budget Health & Beauty Products

I don't know about you lot, but I love a good bargain. I know people say you get what you pay for, and sometimes this is true. However sometimes you can get a great product for a super cheap price! Some of my favourite places to find bargains are Poundland and Poundworld, Home Bargains, and B&M Bargains. I often buy new beauty related products from these stores, not only the well known/branded ones but also some of the lower priced, budget beauty ranges.

One of these ranges I regularly use products from is Derma V10. I reviewed one of their hair colours a while back, which you can read about HERE. I was recently sent a few more of the products from this range and wanted to share my thoughts on them with you.

Derma V10 Cocoa Body Butter* - 220ml - £1
"For normal to dry skin. Apply anywhere to help nourish the skin giving a radiant glow"

This first of all smells A-mazing! It has a very rich, thick consistency and does take a bit of massaging into the skin. This means that a little will go a long way, and the 220ml tub will last ages! Once the butter has sunk into the skin, it leaves it feeling nourished, smooth and silky, and the scent lasts for hours too. Even if you're not too keen on the Cocoa scent, there are others in the range such as Coconut, Vanilla, Almond and Mango. So plenty to choose from!

Derma V10 Hand & Nail Cream With Beeswax* - 75ml - Price TBC
"Our Q10 Innovation Anti Ageing hand cream with Beeswax and Vitamin E has been formulated to give ageing hands the care they need. The SPF10 gives protection to your skin against the sun helping to prevent age spots and premature ageing. The combination of Beeswax & Vitamin E gives a rich formula which nourishes and enriches ageing skin leaving hands feeling soft and smooth"

This cream is yet to be released, however you should be able to find it making it's way into stores during February 2013. Although this is marketed as an "anti-ageing" hand cream. It's not necessarily relevant to me seeing as I am only 21, however main purpose is really to protect and nourish the skin, and I've really enjoyed using it so far. It contains Beeswax and Vitamin E which makes for a rich formula. It sinks into the skin quickly and leaves the hands feeling soft, smooth and nourished. It also contains SPF10 so will protect as well as moisturise the skin.

Derma V10 Dry Skin Cream* - 100ml - £1
"24/7 Dry skin cream is an unscented cream specially formulated for every day use, it helps keep skin soft and supple. Can be used on sensitive skin to help prevent dryness"

This cream can be used on both the face and body. Its a purse friendly alternative to E45 cream. The only niggle I have about this is that it comes in a tube(not the easiest to squeeze when going back for more and you've got greasy hands). Other than that, its great. It's unscented, paraben free, and hasn't been animal tested! I have used this for a couple of years now to be honest, it's especially good for dry patches, such as knees and elbows. I've also used it when I had a reaction to some fake tan product and my skin was peeling, it kept my skin smooth and refreshed and cleared up in no time!

Derma V10 Q10 Innovations Advanced Formula Rejuvenating Day Cream* - 50ml - £1
"Specially formulated to moisturise, tone and protect the skin against the damaging effects of everyday life. The unique blend of Coenzyme Q10 and Carnitine leaves your skin feeling refreshed, firm and radiant"

The cream comes in a white/transparent plastic jar, which although isn't very cosmetically appealing, it's practical and light, so great for travelling! Once I opened the cream I instantly noticed that it does have quite a stong floral/powdery fragrance, which I'm not too keen on myself but some people like this in a cream. It isn't too thick and blends quickly and easily to leave the skin looking healthy and feeling moisturised for most of the day and it doesn't feel greasy at all! This honestly is an absolute bargain, I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap moisturiser that really works!

Derma V10 Q10 Innovations Advanced Formula Rejuvenating Night Cream* - 50ml - £1
"Derma V10 Q10 Innovation Nigh Cream is a special rich formulation that is applied gently before sleep to provide plentiful source of essential vitamins and Coenzyme Q10 allowing night long skin cell rejuvenation. The special blend helps nourish, moisturise and restore firmness and freshness to the skins texture."

The night cream comes in very similar packaging to the day cream in a white/transparent plastic jar, but this time with blue rather than green packaging. The cream is quite a bit thicker and richer than the day cream, but this is to be expected for night time moisturisation to repair and rejuvenate the skin cells overnight. You only need a very small amount to cover the whole face but once again the cream sinks into the skin quickly and easily and doesn't leave a greasy residue. Again, it does have quite a floral scent to it, but this is more tolerable for me in a night cream rather than the daytime. I've been using this every other night on my skin and found that my skin looks healthier and feels refreshed on a morning.

Derma V10 Ten Years Younger Re-Energiser Eye Roll-On* - 15ml - £2.49
"This powerful eye roll on has been specially formulated to renew and revive the skin around the eye area helping to revitalise tired looking skin. Used every day it gradually reduces the appearance of dark circles and bags around the eye area. The eye roll on is non greasy and contains Caffeine, Hyaluronic acid, Aloe Vera, Vitamin B1, Lemon extract"

This eye roll on is absolutely fantastic, and it really works! I have been using the BalanceMe. Wonder Eye Cream for months and thought this would be no match to it, however it has succeeded my expectations and I now use it as part of my daily skincare routine. It comes in an easy roll on tube with a metal ball applicator at the end. Tip: I tend to keep this roll on in the fridge so that when you use it its very cooling and refreshing. I use it on a morning and again at night. I instantly notice that my eye area looks fresher and brighter. Fragrance free, Paraben free and not tested on animals. Perfect!

Derma V10 Solkiss Bronze Don't Bake Natural Look Fake Tan Mousse Medium* - 100ml - £1
"Derma V10 natural look tanning mousse has been formulated to develop a natural looking streak free tan. The tan will develop within 4-6 hours and will last for up to 5-7 days. For a medium tan re-apply in 5-7 days, for a dark tan re-apply in 3-5 days. Our formula has a hint of blueberry fragrance and is enriched with Aloe Vera to help the skin feel moisturised and enriched."

I am a big fan tanning products. Epecially mousse based ones, I normally use the St. Moriz Mousse-Dark. So I was quite excited to try this out. One thing I love about this one is the fruity scent, as we all know some tans do smell a bit odd(sort of biscuit-y??). Application is really easy with the squirty button along with the 3 in 1 tanning mitt. The mousse itself is uncoloured, unlike my normal one... this is because it is a gradual tanner and the colour builds up over several hours. After a few hours you will notice a gorgeous natural, healthy bronzed tan appearing. You can then continue to top this up every couple of days or so. The only reason that keeps me from re-purchasing this tan will be because it is a gradual tan rather than an instant tan like my St.Moriz mousse. (Mainly because I'm very impatient and like to see instant results haha).

Derma V10 3 In 1 Self Tan Applicator Mitt* - £1
"Solkiss 3 in 1 self tan applicator mitt is a simple accessory designed to help apply self tanning lotions and mousses more evenly without staining your hands. The white sponge side is to gently exfoliate the skin and apply the self tan product. The brown soft cotton side is to buff the skin after application for a streak free finish"

This is a product I've been using for a couple of years now and I've never felt the need to try anything else to apply my tan. I love it because its quick, simple and provides fantastic results. I was forever having orange "Wotsit hands" before when I didn't use a mitt. This mitt also comes with a pair of rubber gloves which I find help to grip the inside of the mitt. The sponge exfoliator side is particularly useful for elbows and knees(where the tan tends to stick to a lot more than everywhere else). I however tend to use the brown bit of the glove to actually apply my tan as mine is an instant colour one. I'm never streaky or uneven after using this glove, perfect! Bargain and can be re-used as many times as you want as you can just wash it in warm soapy water after use.

Derma V10 Deep Cleansing Nose Strips* - Pack of 6 - £1
"Cleansing nose strips are designed to unclog pores and remove blackheads. The specially created strips adhere to dirt and oil in the most hard to reach areas. Once the strip has been removed you will see an improvement and with regular use the strips help to reduce the long term appearance of pores"

I know everyone raves about the Biore Nose Strips, however I find them far too expensive for what they are, and these ones from Derma V10 do the same job for a fraction of the price! I mean why on earth would you want to spend nearly £8 on something that you can get for only £1?? Especially when its only to get dirt out your nose! These are really simple to use. Just moisten the nose with warm water. Press the strip onto your nose. Wait 10-15 mins until dry, and then peel off carefully.(My fave part is seeing all the gunk thats stuck on the strips afterwards haha, disgusting I know.)

Derma V10 Tea Tree Cleansing Wipes* - Pack of 25 - 45p
"With natural Tea Tree oil, Aloe Vera and Peppermint oils for quick and easy cleansing and spot prevention.Tea Tree wipes help cleanse the skin, removes dirt, excess oil, make up and helps prevent spots"

I haven't actually used these as I don't like the smell of Tea Tree Oil, I am passing them onto my boyfriend because I know he swears my Tea Tree face washes/wipes etc. They are perfect for oily and spot-prone skin. These are super cheap and effective. You can't go wrong!

Derma V10 Tea Tree Reviving Foot Wipes* - Pack of 15 - 45p
"With natural Tea Tree oil, Aloe Vera and Peppermint oils for quick and easy cleansing. Revives your skin, helping to keep you on your toes a while longer. Our foot wipes help cleanse the skin removing dirt, grime and excess oil, helping to keep your feet feeling soft, clean and relaxed"

I have used these wipes because although I don't like the smell of Tea Tree, I can put up with it when it's only being used on my feet. I love these, they are really refreshing! Perfect for when you come back in after a long shopping trip with aching feet ;)

Derma V10 Heat Guard Hair Spray* - 200ml - £1
"Heat Guard helps to protect hair and add shine during the use of electrical styling appliances, maintaining healthy hair condition. Heat guard is ideal for use with Straighteners, Curling Tongs and Hairdryers"

Obviously I can't comment on whether this product actually works or not because you can't really see a visible result. Especially when my hair is already quite damaged from a lot of colouring and heat abuse over the years. However I'm relying on the fact that it is protecting my hair from any further damage now. I use this after washing my hair before using my hairdryer and then again after drying before using my straighteners.  Its quick and easy to use, doesn't really have a smell, and doesn't leave my hair feeling sticky or greasy. So I'm happy to continue using this!

So there's my throughs on some amazing budget beauty products.
Have you tried any of these, or any others by Derma V10? What do you think?

Weekend Haul ♥

Hi everyone!

I hope you've all had a nice week, and looking forward to the weekend? Thank God its Friday, that's all I can say! I won't bore you with all my problems...

Last weekend was the first time I've been out shopping in a long while.  I felt like I deserved to treat myself a little. My closest town is Dudley, which isn't great as it doesn't really have any clothes stores... but its quiet, so I like it :) I didn't go crazy but I got quite a lot of stuff for what I actually spent. Not to mention I still had unused gift cards from Christmas and my Birthday to spend for Boots!

Here's what I bought...

I bought this "Vintage Home" hanging storage from B&M. It was only £4.99. It is meant for use in the bathroom/shower, but it's so pretty and I think it will be ideal to use in my newly decorated room to store my skincare bottles etc.
My mom bought me this cute little lamp for my room as my old one was looking a bit out of place. This was super cheap again at only £3.99 from B&M. I love the heart shaped base, so pretty!
This dressing gown was an absolute bargain at only £4.99 reduced from £11.99, again from B&M. Its huge and super soft and comfy!!
My Mom also bought me this new travel mug as she broke my old one. This was only 99p from B&M again. Bargain really to say they sell for around £7 in Clintons etc...
These are some things I picked up from Poundland, I dunno about you but I always love a good nosey around the make up sections in the Poundlands(unfortunately this week there wasn't much good in the way of cosmetics but I had a look round the rest of the store anyway.

I don't really know what I'm going to do with the owl stickers, but they were so cute I bought them anyway... I'm sure they will come in handy one day :) & The Skittles candle smells gorgeous, I'll definitely be picking up some of the other scents too next time.
I just had to get my hands on the new Rimmel Apocalips which have been hyped up so much by everyone lately, and now I can see why, they're amazing! I got shades Luna, Nova and Celestial (I'll be reviewing these very soon). These were £5.99 each but on offer 3 for 2 at Boots!

I also picked up the new Max Factor Clump Defy mascara, which I am also very impressed with, which was super cheap from Superdrug at introductory price of about £7 compared to £10.99 which it will eventually retail for.

The Collection shimmering glow is a re-purchase for my previous one which got smashed up in my bag :( This was £2.99 from Boots.
Brunette Dry Shampoo - £1 from Poundland. (I've tried so many others but I find this one the best!)

Pantene Pro-V Full & Thick Styling Mousse - Picked this up from Poundland on a whim, I'm testing it out, and loving it so far!

New Nivea Stress Protect deodorant, half price at Boots only £1.05. I saw the adverts and thought I'd give it a go. I'm not too keen on the smell really, but it does what it says on the tin.

I finally gave in to buying the Lee Stafford Hair Growth range, I've seen so many positive reviews and comments on these, especially the Treatment, they are quite expensive, I think about £7.99 each, but are currently on offer 3 for 2 at Boots. I love these, and have instantly noticed a difference in the look and feel of my hair(again I will be reviewing these soon)
Finally I picked up a few sets of earrings from the Boots clearance sale. (The Christmas card does actually have 3 sets of earrings on it, disguised as baubles) Not only were these sets massively reduced... but then I found out they were also on buy one get one free! So I had all these for only £6!!

Let me know if you've posted a haul recently and leave a link, I'd love to have a nosey :)

Hope you've enjoyed reading :)
