Review| MUA The Artiste Collection Palette

As soon as I laid eyes on this beautiful new palette by MUA I just knew I needed it in my life!
It's their first combination palette, containing eyeshadows, blushes, a bronzer and a highlighter.
Unfortunately my local Superdrug sucks with regards to their range of MUA products,
so I just went a little crazy and bought a load of new items online instead.
I want to share with you my thoughts and some swatches :)

The sleek black packaging with transparent lid is typical of most MUA products.
The packaging isn't always the best with regards to sturdiness, but it does the job.
And as with all the other palettes from the MUA Pro range, it comes with it's
own double-ended sponge applicator, which I've surprisingly started to like using.

I have noticed that each shade has been assigned its own name.
This is a first from MUA, as normally they are just Shade 1,2,3 etc.
I personally prefer the names, it gives them a little personality, and
of course makes them easier to refer to for reviewing purposes ;)

Eye shadows
There are 6 eye shadows in total, they have a pretty marbled effect in the palette.
Pistaschio - Pale green shimmer with darker blue/green marbling.
Mocca - A light cream shimmer with grey marbling.
Ice - Vibrant sky blue shade with baby blue marbling.
Grape - A deep purple shimmer with light blue marbling.
Chocolate - Metallic bronze with cream marbling.
Cookie - An orange-toned brown shade with pale pink marbling.

(Shades Shown Above, From L to R - Pistaschio, Mocca, Ice, Grape, Chocolate & Cookie)
As with most of the other eye shadow palettes I own from MUA, each shade is highly pigmented.
But unexpectedly it's the matte shades in this palette that have the best colour pay off.
ie - Ice and Cookie. They applied so well, and look really dense.
I think this is a great selection of shades and is versatile and could create so many looks!

Pink Sparkle - A coral toned pink with a slight shimmer effect.
Primrose - A matte, medium shade of pink.

Each of the blushes have great colour pay off, but don't apply as well as the shadows.
They are powdery with a bit of fall out when applying, so would take
quite a bit of colour building to get your desired shade.

Bronzed (Bronzer) - A deep olive-brown matte powder.
This would be great to use for contouring, as its quite dark, and matte.
Once again, this is quite a loose powder and would take some layering.

Shimmer Kiss (Highlighter) - A pearlescent pink shimmer.
This is honestly the perfect highlighting shade for me, considering my rather pale skin tone.
It's not very well pigmented, but would be ideal for creating a natural looking glow.

Overall this is a fabulous all-rounder palette to have.
Especially because it contains face powders as well as eye colours.
You get a fair amount of product for your money, with each pan being quite large.

This is available to buy online at MUA Store, or at Superdrug stores.
It's a bargain at just £6.00.

Have you got this palette or will you be buying? What do you think?

    1. I think the only ones that wouldn't really be wearable are probably ice and grape, a little bright, but maybe could create a nice purple smokey eye look :) xx

  7. This looks beautiful! I'm so glad they've started naming their shades too, it was so confusing having everything just numbered!

    1. I know, I love when brands name all their products individually! :) xx

  8. I think I prefer this to all the other MUA Palettes, as this has blus in it too, so everything I need :)

  9. I haven't bought any MUA palettes yet but this looks great! The marble effect looks pretty. I might have to purchase this :)

    1. The marble effect is pretty, but unfortunately as soon as you swipe the surface, it is no more. I'm so glad I took pics before using! :) xx
