Hello you lovely bunch :)
If any of you follow me on Instagram you will recognise this pretty little drawer set I made from my old Glossyboxes over the weekend. Now I dunno about you, but I'm forever wanting to throw out my old Glossy Boxes but just can't bring myself to do it, I'm a bit of a hoarder in all honesty, I keep a lot of unnecessary stuff, thinking "but it will come in useful one day"! I saw this tutorial on Janet's Blog and thought it was an amazing idea to re-use them, and create a cute looking storage place for all your makeup/beauty products :)
YOU WILL NEED:
♥ 4 x Glossy Boxes complete with lids.
♥ Probably a couple of tubes of Super Glue
♥ Strong, sharp scissors or pen knife.
♥ Some spare time and a bit of patience! haha
So, you ready? Here we go....
Start off by taking one of your glossy boxes and cutting off the 4 sides to leave you with just the base part. This will make the bottom of your drawer set.
Then, take two of the Glossy box lids, and cut off just one of the longer edges of the box as shown in the photo above. These will be used to make up the sides of the drawers and join to the base.
Use Super glue to glue one of the shorter edges of the lid onto the base part you started off with, as shown in the photo. Repeat this with the other lid but on the opposite side of the base.
Then, take your 3rd lid. Cut off both of the shorter edges completely, but only cut off the pink parts on the longer sides of the lid. Flatten the lid out. This will be used to make the back of the drawers.
Glue the 3rd lid onto the two side panels as shown above. You can see its starting to come together now :)
Take the 4th Glossy box lid, turn it up-side down and just glue it onto the top of the drawer. Then just slide in the 3 remaining Glossy boxes for the drawers :)
Finish off with some decorations, I used the Glossybox ribbons to make a cute little bow and pull tabs for the drawers.
& There you have it a cute way to store all your make up, and saves you throwing away those pretty boxes!
You can use the drawers to store your smaller make up products, and then the lid on top you can store larger bottles/skincare etc :)

Mine were too before I made this! I have enough to make another one now too, trouble is all my boxes are different colours now haha xx
Delete....saw another blog (not as good as yours ;) who covered theirs in wrapping paper/adhesive plasic - it was a small pretty floral pattern. Looked good.
DeleteOh that sounds like such a great idea! I liked how mine looked but when I redecorated my bedroom it didn't really fit in anymore, maybe I should find some floral paper to jazz it up a little, thank you :)
DeleteSuggestion. While it's all cut up Modpodge it with material of your choice then glue it as instructed above. :D
