Review| Avon Super Curlacious Mascara

Avon Super Curlacious mascara has quickly become my 2nd most used mascara, next to my Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara which I reviewed HERE. I actually got this as a freebie with a magazine a couple of months back, I'm sure some of you will remember there were 3 mascara's in total to try out but this was the one I was most interested in.
First off, I really like the packagaging, its sleek, stylish and appealing to the eye, and although it may be a little dull I like the simple style and effect of the hot pink writing on the black tube.
The wand is the curved "spoon" shape - my personal favourite, and one which I always look out for now when trying out new mascara's. The curved brush is designed to grab each lash from corner to corner and provide curl and volume! This particular brush is dense and covered in short plastic bristles to give even coverage without clumping.

The mascara I've got is in shade 'black'. The formula itself is quite thick however it covers well and dries reasonably quick after application. It has great wear time and doesn't smudge or flake.
My natural eyelashes.
My lashes with 1 coat of Avon Super Curlacious
My lashes with 2 coats of Avon Super Curlacious

Unfortunately I barely noticed any extra curl to my natural lashes, so would definitely recommend using eyelash curlers with this one. Other than that it provides a great volume and length to the lashes. It's perfect for those who prefer a more natural eye look as after a couple of layers I found my lashes became a little stiff, so this really wouldn't layer too well for a dramatic night out kinda look.

The mascara is easy to remove, even with mild eye make up removers, and doesn't seem to irritate my eyes (which are usually quite sensitive). The mascara does have a slight glue-like scent, but nothing overpowering/offputting.

Overall this is a great mascara, and is available to buy from Avon online and is currently on offer at just £5! RRP £8.50 for 7ml.

Have you tried this mascara, & what are your thoughts?
Or do you recommend any others similar?

Review| GHD Scarlet Deluxe Hair Straightener/Dryer Collection

Hii everyone, didn't that "long weekend" fly by!?

I've got a bit of a different post for you today, its haircare rather than make up!

If any of you follow me on Instagram (@lauramorrall92), you'll already know that I treated myself to a new set of GHD's! :) I've had my last set for around 5 years now, and to this day, they still work brilliantly, however they were looking a bit worse for wear. I've tried no end of brands for straighteners over the years, and honestly, nothing compares to GHD's and its one of very few things that I am willing to pay top prices for in life.

I'm so happy with it, and it really is a beautiful set. & I just couldn't wait to share it with you all :)

Packaging & Delivery
Ghd offer free delivery from their website. Once purchased I received an automatic email acknowledgement saying my order and payment had been received. I received a second email telling me my order had been dispatched and providing me with a tracking number. To my surprise they arrived with me the next day. So I really can't knock them for the efficiency(despite there being a comment on the website saying there might be a delay due to high demand for this set at the time). They arrived quickly and well packaged/protected.

Extra's
The set comes with its own beautifully designed Art Deco style trunk/chest, which I will probably end up using to store my make up or maybe hair products at some point, but I don't want to ruin it just yet. It is sturdy and well made. Inside the chest is also a matching clutch bag (again with an Art Deco style theme), which doubles up as a carrier/travel bag for the straighteners due to it being heat resistant. Inside this is a couple of ghd sectioning clips. In no way can I complain about the amount of extra's you get for your money with this set!

ghd Classic Styler with Limited Edition Scarlet Plates
This styler is based on the original gold styler but comes with limited edition scarlet plates and detailing. This styler is perfect for my hair type, as the plates are neither too wide nor too thin. Not only do they straighten but because of the rounded barrel you can use them to create all types of curls/waves in your hair too. They heat up to around 230 degrees I believe which provides amazingly quick styling capabilities however I would definitely recommend using a heat protection spray, preferably the ghd Heat Protect Spray. They are ready to use within 30 seconds of turning them on, great when you're in a rush, and they do go onto standby after around 20-30 minutes without use, I'm forever forgetting to turn them off before leaving the house, naughty me! After trying many stylers over the years, I'm yet to find one that can even begin to compare to the ghd's!

Limited Edition Travel Hair Dryer
I was super excited when I realised this set came with an official ghd hair dryer too! Being a "travel" dryer I wasn't expecting much, but I've actually been using it over my normal hair dryer because its really powerful and reasonably quiet too! The dryer itself is sleek and stylish and compliments the rest of the set really well. Like a lot of travel dryers it folds up on itself to become super compact. Overall I'm quite impressed by this, and I hope I get as much use out of it as I have from my straighteners over the years!

Guarantee & Quality
In my eyes, the only way to guarantee authenticity was by ordering direct from ghd!
I've heard so many stories about sales of fakes/replicas and wanted to steer well clear. Ghd offer a 2 year warranty with this set which I think is fantastic. I know they are great quality because as I say, I had my last set for around 5 years and they are still in perfect working order even after lots of use not only by myself but  my mom, sister, and even my brother when he had longer hair haha!
I truly believe that if you want quality you should invest (and it's not very often you'll hear me say that).

This set is still on offer on ghd's website HERE for only £99! Original RRP £149.99!

Do you own ghd's, what styler do you have?
Or what is your go to hair straightener/brand?

Freebie| 17 Get Bronzed, It's Glow Time

You may know me as a bit of a bargain hunter by now, always browsing for something new. While I was out shopping the other day, I noticed that 17 had got another freebie offer on their products.
The offer was, if you spent £5.99 on any product from the range, you got the "Get Bronzed" Kit FREE!

So I set about my chances trying to find something for exactly £5.99, now normally this never happens because they tactically price the products to edge around the minimum spending price, but I found that the BB Balm was on offer at £5.99 rather than the normal £6.99. So I picked up this and my free gift to take to the counter. While I was there the lady on the till told me I'd got over £8 worth of points on my Advantage Card. So I used some of them up to pay for this. So I didn't pay a thing! :)

I can't wait to try out all of these products, I love the look of all the items in the Bronzing kit, I'll definitely be using the eyeshadow often at least. I'll try and post up reviews of these items at some point in the future haha.

Are you going to take advantage of this offer?

How To: Remove Comment Word Verification!

I don't know if this is just me, but I HATE it when you try to comment on a blog, and then the bloody word verification pops up? Now, not being funny, but speaking from my own experiences I don't get many spam comments anyway, & when I do, blogger usually automatically recognises them and doesn't publish, so there really is no need to have this on! Not to mention that its becoming harder and harder to actually decipher what the hell the words/numbers actually are on these things, its like trying to crack the Davinci code or something :/ It gets a little frustrating when you keep getting it wrong, and I'm sometimes tempted to just leave without commenting.

Here's a quick tutorial to show you how to turn off word verification...
(This tutorial is using the new blogger interface)

1. Go to your blogger home page.
2. Go to settings from the drop down box:

3. In the sidebar click on 'Posts and Comments'
4. Find where it says 'Show Word Verification'
5. Make sure this says 'No'

6. Save your settings using the orange box in top right corner.

& You're done! This will make it easier for people to comment on your blog :)
Any questions, let me know below...

Fossil Rose Gold Watch

I've noticed there's been a huge hype around the Michael Kors Rose Gold Watches lately. Now as lovely as they are, I just could not bring myself to pay between £250-300 for one, unless of course I was to win the lottery?

While I was out shopping yesterday, I found this absolutely gorgeous watch, which in all honesty I actually prefer to the Michael Kors watches. Its by Fossil, its stainless steel rose gold plated, with Diamant√© edging and working date dials with a opalescent finish. This one retails for £125. I literally stood in H Samuels for around half an hour debating whether to buy this, I could afford it but thought there's so many other things I need the money for haha! My Mom said she would buy it me as my 21st birthday present, but that's not until January :(

I did have a browse on the internet to look for a similar one, and I found one for around £20 on Amazon which I really liked, and included on my last weekends wishlist. I am tempted to buy this one as its so cheap and will do just aswell, it looks pretty similar anyway, other than the dials aren't working and they aren't pearly. It was this watch by Geneva:

1960's Beehive Hair Style Ft. John Frieda Full Repair Products

Hello you lovely lot!

If you saw this post last week with a couple of videos I shared with you about the John Frieda Full Repair Hair Care Range. You'll have noticed that I took quite a liking to the 1960's Inspired Beehive Styling Video. I was later sent some of the products from the range to try out & I must say I loved them as soon as I used them. So I tried them out and had a go at following the tutorial on my own :)

Unfortunately my hair is not as silky, sleek, long or as well looked after as the models hair in the video. Of course without fail, I have got my hair extensions in to give that extra bit of length and effect (I hate how short my natural hair is!) Overall I don't think it turned out too badly?

If you'd like to give this hairstyle a go yourself, check out this video below:

I must say using the John Frieda Full Repair products before giving this a go made my hair much more manageable...

John Frieda Full Repair Full Body Shampoo & Conditioner
Both products contain Inca Ichi Oil which is rich in Omega 3 and penetrates the hair deeply to restore and repair the look and feel of overstyled hair. It also detangles hair strands to prevent future hair snagging and breakage. They are safe to use on coloured and chemically treated hair, and they also protect against heat damage!
The shampoo has a light formula, however I feel its probably better suited to thicker hair types like my own, if you have very fine hair then this may weigh it down. My hair is quite thick, but very damaged, this shampoo is great for moisturising and reparing while also adding shine to the hair. I loved how easily this shampoo lathered up and it really deep cleaned my hair and scalp, leaving my hair fresh, light and ready to condition.
RRP - £5.59 For 250ml

The conditioner is also quite lightweight and easy to distribute evenly throughout the hair, however once again I'd recommend for thicker hair types as it might be a little too thick for finer hair. It may cause finer hair to become limp and greasy quickly. I like this conditioner, but unfortunately because my hair is SO damaged at the moment this really doesn't much for me and I prefer the Deep Conditioner Masque.
RRP - £5.59 For 250ml

John Frieda Full Repair Deep Conditioner Masque
Once again this product contains Inca Ichi Oil which is rich in Omega 3 and penetrates the hair deeply to restore and repair the look and feel of overstyled hair. It also reduces chances of future hair breakage, and leaves hair feeling silky and full. It's safe to use on coloured and chemically treated hair.
I think this has to be my favourite product out of the four that I was sent, as I feel this is what makes the most difference on the condition of my hair. The conditioner itself is quite thin and runny in formula so you literally only need a very small amount and it will go far! It is recommended to leave the product on for between 2-5 minutes before rinsing out, however I left mine on for a good 15 mins or so. I noticed a difference in my hair texture and appearance instantly from using this, It feels smooth and silky and looks more shiny, not to mention the ends looking significantly less damaged!
RRP - £5.99 For 150ml

John Frieda Full Repair Perfect Ends Deep Fusion
Enriched with Inca Inchi Oil with Omega 3, this serum claims to instantly absorb into torn hair strands and weightlessly repairs the look and feel of damage to the length and hair ends. To leave the hair smooth, shiny and full of body. This also protects against heat damage.
This is also a fantastic product for me, I have been using the John Frieda "Frizz Ease" Hair serum for as long as I can remember, and I love it, so I was really intrigued by the Full Repair Serum. It is applied to semi-wet hair just before blow drying. However if my hair is looking a little static or frizzy I have tried this out and it really smooths it down! This is to be used on the ends and lengths of the hair only, not applied by the roots. Go with the less is more approach again on this product. The liquid is very thin and runny and can cause the hair to look greasy if too much is applied. I can tell I'll definitely be repurchasing this product.
RRP - £6.99 For 50ml

The whole John Frieda Full Repair Range is currently on offer at 2 for £7.49 at Superdrug! - Link
Absolute bargain if you look at the individual RRP prices.

Overall I am very impressed with the products I've recieved and would really love to try out the other two in the range, the Full Repair Heat Activated Styler, and the Full Repair Root Lift Foam. But may have to wait a while for these as I can't really afford them at the moment haha.

Have you tried any John Frieda products? Which is your favourite?
