Top tips on how to get rid of stained nails!

Hello ♥

I have a different kind of post for you today, hope you like it!

Now I don't know about you, I LOVE nail varnish, but I HATE the staining that it sometimes leaves on your nails afterwards! Its horrible, it makes you look unhealthy and dirty and no matter how much soap you use you just can't get rid of them.

I've really took a stand on this lately and I've been trying out a few different methods, so these are tried and tested, and they do work!

So here are my top tips on how to get rid of stained nails :)

.............................................................................................................................................

First off, you should prepare your nails using a nail varnish remover to get rid of any nail varnish. Then wash your hands thoroughly in warm soapy water. Then you can use 1 or all 3 of the following methods....

Method 1: Stain Removing Toothpaste!
This is my favourite method, its quick, cheap and easy!
I've been using this Eucryl powerful stain removal tooth powder. I bought this from my local pound shop so its really cheap to buy. I use an old toothbrush and dip it into the powder and scrub all over my nails. You notice will a difference straight away, but if you do this often you will notice more of a difference and will remove deep staining over time!

Method 2: Lemons!

For this method you should cut a lemon in half, rub your nails around inside the lemon for a little while. You should then leave the lemon juice to soak into your nails for a couple of minutes before scrubbing clean with a nail brush or an old toothbrush.

Method 3: Denture Tablets & Water!

Drop two denture tablets into half a glass/small container of water. You should then soak your nails for a good few minutes before scrubbing them clean with a nail brush or an old toothbrush.

Final Tips!

♥ I use an extra strong nail varnish remover to remove initial staining. I know the high levels of acetone dries out your nails and skin, but a strengthening base coat and a bit of moisturiser & cuticle oil will sort this out afterwards :)
♥ Try not to leave a certain nail polish on for too long, the longer you leave it on, the more the colour will sink into your nails.
♥ Don't use dark coloured nail varnish too often, give your nails a break with a Nude shade every now and again.
♥ Always use a clear base coat, this will provide protection for your nail surface from the nail varnish. I've started using the O.P.I Nail Envy Original, I would definitely recommend this to any one!

.............................................................................................................................................

There are probably many more ways of removing stains from your nails but these are my tried and tested methods. Hope you found this useful :)
