My Favourite Mascara! Review: Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara - Glam Black

Hello lovelies

This is a post I've been meaning to do for quite a while now, so its been a long time coming & I hope its worth it.

I love writing about things I love, and this mascara is one of those things. I've been using this for a fair few months now, this is the 3rd time I have re-purchased. It's a make up product that I use every day and I really have struggled to find any other mascara that quite compares to it. So I just wanted to share with you why it's my favourite.

First off, the design and packaging of the products is really eye catching and expresses it's boldness right from the word go! I love the shape of the mascara, and the leapord print design on the lid.
The wand itself is a curved 'spoon' type brush, which personally I've grown to love and I always look for this type of brush now when trying new mascara's! I find this brush super easy to use, and due to the bristles being so short, you can get right down to the eye to ensure you catch every lash as you stroke upwards.
*My Natural Lashes(Please excuse the fact I have no other make up on!*
*After a couple of coats of the Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara*

So, Maybelline claims this mascara will give "wide eyed volume"and will"flare out lashes for a bold cat eye look".

I must say, I totally agree with them on this! I find it really does lengthen, volumise and flare out my lashes wonderfully! You can either dress it down with just one coat for a more natural look, or add a couple more coats to achieve a full glam look for a night out.

The mascara is suitable for sensitive eyes, and it doesn't feel clumpy or heavy while wearing. The only thing I could mention is that it could do with being a waterproof formula, because it does tend to smudge under the eye quite a bit.

Other than that, its a fantastic Mascara and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

This mascara is avaiable from most Boots & Superdrug stores and online.

It retails for just £7.99, which I think is very reasonable for a mascara of this quality & which actually does what it claims to do!

Let me know what your favourite mascara is below!

  6. Wow, this mascara really makes such a huge difference! I've never seen a spoon-shaped mascara wand before, how do you use it? I like Rimmel London's Scandaleyes mascara, it's the one I've been using a lot lately :) I had a look through your other posts too and you have some great beauty tips, I loved the minnie mouse nails! I made a minnie mouse costume a while back and I wish I had known about your nails! Anyway, I'm your new follower because I can't wait to see more from you :)

    1. I actually got bought the Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara, and I just cannot get used to it! The brush is far too big, and it doesn't seem to curl my lashes, and makes them look all clumped together :( But I guess everyone has different views on different mascaras depending on the type of their eyelashes! :)

      Thank you for following! xxx

  8. Oooh this works great on you!! It really elongates your lashes!

Maybelline mascaras never work well on me. I think mascaras must work very differently for different people, depending on your lashes.
