Review: Benefit Cosmetics Freebies!

I know that pretty much everyone has read at least one blog post about this months amazing Benefit freebies with Glamour Magazine! However, I'd like to call this more of a review than anything else, as they've kinda sold out everywhere now.

I'm actually subscribed to Glamour Magazine anyway, and when the issue came through my door just before the beginning of the month and I found the box of 'POREfessional' I had to go out and check out the other freebies, I ended up getting all 3 copies :) But, at only £2, they were definitely worth it, even if I do look a bit odd at the checkout with multiple copies of the same magazine haha.

Benefit - the POREfessional - Pore minimiser balm.
Benefit porefessional is honestly one of the best products I've ever used, I wish I'd known about it sooner! It's a light, silky substance which acts as a primer to minimise the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles and leave your skin looking smooth and flawless. I think it would be suitable for any skin tone/type because it
has a translucent finish once blended in.

It can either be worn as a basic primer underneath make up, or you can apply it on top to set your make up with a matte look for the day. I did find that my make up held slightly longer than usual when using this primer too. You literally only need to use a tiny amount to achieve an amazing effect on your skin, so it is well worth the money and will last a long, long time.

You can purchase Porefessional from Boots & Debenhams stores.
It retails at £23.50 for 22ml.
But is currently on offer in Debenhams for £19.58, HERE.

"that gal" - Brightening face primer.
Benefit "that gal" is a wonderful product and it basically does exactly what it says!
The primer itself has a creamy lightweight formula and comes out a pinky colour, once applied it instantly gives the skin a fresh, glowing appearance. It also evens out skin tone, probably due to the pink colour. This works well to apply as a base underneath your make up, and the brightening effect still shows through. Unfortunately this primer does not reduce appearance of pores/lines in the skin, so if this is what you're looking for I would recommend the Porefessional primer instead. I didn't find that my makeup lasts any longer than usual when using this primer, but that's not too important with this product.

You can purchase "that gal" from Boots & Debenhams stores.
It retails at £21.50 for 11ml.

BAD gal lash - Mascara.
Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara claims to give the effect of "an instant set of false lashes". Unfortunately for me, this wasn't the case. I didn't find that it gave my lashes much length or volume, and I found it smudged quite badly under the eyes after just a few hours or so. The only thing I liked about it was the large synthetic brush, it separated the lashes really well, and stopped the lashes from clumping together like some mascara's do. If you are looking for a more natural looking mascara, rather than a false lash big effect, this would be ideal for you.

You can purchase Bad Gal Lash at Boots & Debenhams stores.
It retails at £16.50 for 8.5g.

If you do happen to see any of the Glamour Magazines just sitting on the shelves, make sure you pick one up, you wont be disappointed!

Getting NAKED!

Hello you lovely lot! :)

Just a quick post to share with you my latest additions to my makeup collection, you'll have probably guessed what they are from the title of this post... Although I've got a feeling it might have been a little misleading haha!

My boyfriend actually bought me both of these as gifts, not sure what for, but I'm certainly not complaining :)
It must have been due to the fact he kept seeing me looking at reviews of them on other blogs, and thought it would keep me quiet to have them myself...
These are just a few quick photo's (I hate taking photo's of used make up items but I forgot to take these before I tried them out, I was like a little kid in a sweet shop, just couldn't wait!)

I'll be doing separate reviews on each of the palettes soon, and will even be comparing one of them to another eye shadow palette which I've recently got my hands on. You'll be really surprised at how close a match this palette is to the first Naked. So keep an eye out for this, it will be a great budget buy, trust me :)

If you are looking to purchase the either of the NAKED palettes, you can find them in Debenhams stores, or online.

NAKED Palette is £36.00, and you can purchase it HERE.
NAKED 2 Palette is also £36.00 and you can purchase it HERE.

You can also view the full Urban Decay range on their website, HERE.

Have you got the Naked palettes? Which One do you prefer?

Review: Derma V10 Foam Colour Dark Red Brown

Hey :)

I mentioned in my post the other day that I was getting pretty sick of my horrible multi coloured ginger, brown, blonde hair and I was planning to dye it.

A couple of you said you would like to see how it turned out so here we go...

I picked a colour that I have used before which is the Derma V10 Dark Red Brown. However, this was the first time I've used the foam version. But I'm so glad I did, because it was so much easier than normal hair dyes!

As I say I've used this colour before, so I knew that my hair wouldn't go the shade that's shown on the box, it would be a little too vibrant for my skin colouring if it did!

This is everything you get in the box; foam colour developer and colourant, foam pump, gloves, and conditioner, also the insructions which you should read thoroughly before beginning.

Before I started, I used my little secret and smothered Vaseline all around my hair line. This is so that in case you do get any hair dye on your face around your hair, it won't sink in to your skin, and is easy to wash off without staining!

I just started with a massive pile of the foam in the palm of my hand and started massaging it thoroughly into my hair. I loved how easy this was to cover my hair fully with minimal effort, & it didn't drip everywhere!
When on my hair the foam actually turned a shocking blood red! Which did worry me slightly, but it was all fine afterwards.

I even had enough hair dye left over from 2 boxes to dye my hair extensions! Normally I need 3 bottles of normal hair dye, but the foam seemed to go a long way. I covered a surface with an old towel and some cling film, and dyed my extensions on that.

I left my hair and the extensions to colour for 30 minutes, then washed, conditioned and dried!

As you can see my hair was all sorts of different colours, and my roots looked awful, and my hair looked really dry and damaged.

Shinier, brighter, multi tonal healthier looking hair! :)

What do I think?
I will definitely be purchasing this hair dye again! One bottle of the foam goes a long way compared to normal liquid hair dyes. Also, the smell wasn't overpowering like some dyes. And once dyed, the conditioner that is provided gives the hair a lovely fruity scent.

Price & Availability?
Each box of the Derma V10 Foam Colour costs just £1.99! And they are available at Bodycare stores.

Do you like my new hair colour? Do you prefer to use foam colour or normal dyes?

Caviar Nail Art - Budget Alternative from eBay

So everyone's been going crazy over this Caviar nail art trend, mostly by the brand Ciaté.
£18 each for their Caviar nail kits, now don't get me wrong, they look gorgeous, but I just couldn't pay it, and went on the hunt for an alternative!

& Here it is.... One of my eBay bargains!
There were 18 bottles in total, how cute are these little jars?!

I used a nail art wheel I already had painted. These are colours from the Models Own Pastel collection. I brushed on a clear top coat over each colour and then matched up the colour beads and sprinkled them on.

(Please excuse the fact that I spilt a few blue beads over the orange before it totally dried haha, messy me!)

You can purchase these beads from eBay, HERE for just £1.88 (Including P&P). Now although they are a bargain, please bear in mind that they are being shipped from Hong Kong, and delivery could take a while. Mine arrived roughly after 3 weeks of ordering, but they're well worth the wait :)

How To: Get A Blog Button On Your Blog!

I've just decided I was going to get a blog button for my blog, so I thought I'd show you how I've done it!
I'm sure a lot of you will already know, but just for those who might not, here you go :)

I've used Photoshop CS5 to make the image for my blog button. But you could use paint or any kind of picture program you have.

I've made my button to the sizes of 200 wide x 150 high (Pixels). You can set this when you open up your new canvas. I wouldn't think of making a button any bigger than this otherwise it might not be suitable to fit into your followers sidebars etc.

So here's my picture for my blog button:

Your button ideally needs to show the name of your blog, and an idea of what your blog is about. Now by no means do I think my image is perfect, but its a decent idea I guess?

You will then need to upload your button to a photo sharing site, maybe picasa, photobucket etc. I've used my blogs facebook page instead.

You then need to copy the Image URL.

It should look something like this:

I then used the 'GRAB MY BUTTON-Code Generator' website which is a simple and easy way to link up your image and create the button.

Once you have edited your button and generated the HTML code from this website you need to transfer it on to your blog.

To do this, you go to your Blogger Home page and select 'Layout' from the drop down box

Once on the layout screen,
1.choose the 'Add Gadget' option in your sidebar.
2. Scroll down to find the 'HTML/Javascript' gadget.

Then  you just simply
3. Choose a name for your gadget, I've called mine 'GRAB MY BUTTON'
4. Paste in the HTML Code you copied from the code generator website...
5. Save.

And there you have it, your blog button, and link for other bloggers to use. In your sidebar!!

Hope this has helped at least someone? :)

Oh, and if you do use my blog button on your site, let me know and I'll do the same for you!

Review: MUA Glamour Days Eye Shadow Palette.

Today I have another MUA eye shadow palette review for you.

This one is on their 'Glamour Days' Palette. Which is a gorgeous colourful palette, with shades from ice blues, pretty pink and purple, and glittering gold! The range of looks that could be created with this palette varies so much. From every day natural looks, to big, bright show- stopping looks.

If you aren't familiar with the MUA brand, they started out in Superdrug stores with all their products priced at just £1 each! Since then they have expanded and now have the MUA Pro range, where products can range between £1-£8. Still, great value!

The packaging is trademark for most MUA products, the simple but stylish black and transparent case. I think this is wonderful as you can easily see what's inside the palettes without having to open them. (Great idea I'd say! I hate it when you find palettes and makeup with fingermarks smudged everywhere from people messing inside the packaging!)

The only down side is the packaging is a little flimsy, I have the heaven and earth palette and the lid has actually come off the base. But, I still love it!

Unfortunately MUA don't name their eyeshadows, normally they are numbered, however this one doesn't recognise each shadow at all, just an across the board name of Glamour Days.  But, in MUA's defence I'm sure it would take absolutely forever for them to name each and every one of the eyeshadows from their ranges. Then again, maybe you could have a bit of fun choosing your own names for each of the colours? :)

The thing I like most about this palette is the mix between both neutral shades and the brighter more colourful shades. Perfect to add a bit of vibrant glamour to your every day natural make up look.

The set does also come with its own double ended sponge applicator, however, in all honesty, it's not the best, and I'll probably only ever use it this once to do the swatches.

*Below are swatches in pairs, starting from top left, down to bottom right*

What a fantastic palette? And for just £4, its an absolute bargain too. You can't go too far wrong for just £4 now can you?!

This is available to buy from selected Superdrug stores, if they stock a decent range of the Pro products. OR you can find it online at the MUA Store, here.

Have you bought the Glamour Days Palette, or will you be buying it now? :)

My First Outfit & Face Post.

Hey everyone!

How are you? Hope you've had a lovely weekend! What have you been up to?

I'm enjoying a relaxing pamper evening to myself. Today I have spent a lot of time taking photo's for upcoming blog posts, checking out new blogs :), I've painted my nails, dyed my hair, and now sitting down with a nice cup of Mocha.

I'm feeling very proud of myself actually, I've just realised I've been a very good girl and haven't spent a single penny this whole weekend!? Now honestly, this is a miracle for me. I'm currently saving up for a new car which I am hoping to get at some point this coming week!

Bit of a downside, shame its Monday tomorrow, don't the weekends fly by? :(

Anyways, I thought I would share with you some photo's I managed to sneak in one of the days before work last week. I would like to do more outfit posts, but honestly, I just don't have the time, I usually get up about 10 mins before I have to go out the door for work, stick my hair up in a messy bun, slap on some foundation, mascara and go... (Oh, and obviously some clothes! Oops how could I forget? haha.)

(Is it just me or is it seriously awkward to get a decent full length photo!? If you have any tips, let me know please!)

My clothes:
Leggings - Select £4
Shoes(Black dolly pumps, which you cant see in photo, sorry!) Primark - Also £4
Top/Dress - Charity Shop £2.99 (Originally from River Island)
Belt - Primark £1 in the sale.

MUA Face Primer - £4
