Review| New CID Cosmetics - i Glow Compact Shimmer Powder Sirocco

New CID Cosmetics i-glow Compact Shimmer Powder With Mirror - £24.00* - Link

"These marbelised glow powders are the perfect 'pick me up' for the skin. Using our famous baked formulation for easy, silky smooth application, i-glow has light reflective pigments for mimicking your skins natural radiance"

In all honesty, I don't tend to wear much make-up, just basics. I'm such an amateur when it comes to make up, which is why at first I was totally unsure of how I was going to make use of this powder, but I've quickly grown to love it and found out a few uses for it. However, it has been a little neglected, mainly due to the fact its so pretty looking and I don't want to ruin it haha.

The sleek, white & silver packaging is typical of the New CID cosmetics products. The powder comes in its individual cardboard boxing and is then housed inside a sturdy and practical flip lid compact. It even comes with its own large mirror.

As soon as you open it, you can see just how pretty it looks! It's dome shaped, baked formula with marbelised effect just makes it look that extra bit special. The powder is very fine, and therefore is easily blendable.

Although it looks rather orange-y in a couple of the photo's, the overall colour once swirled together is a very natural golden shimmer. This can be used as a bronzer if you are quite fair skinned. Or you can use as a highlighter for medium-darker skin tones. You could even use it as an eye-shadow, which I have done on a couple of occasions, its perfect just to add that extra bit of detail around the eyes but still leaving you with a natural looking appearance.

Overall, although this is a little on the pricey side, this little bit of light reflecting powder magic works perfectly with many skin tones to give a radiant, healthy, sunkissed appearance. Perfect to give your skin a little 'pick me up' during these dull winter months :)

You can purchase from New CID Cosmetics Website at £24.00 for 9g of product.

Review| Caudalie Cleansing Water

Caudalie Cleansing Water - £13.60* - Link

"Caudalie Cleansing Water thoroughly cleanses and removes makeup without irritation. The soothing, hydrating ingredients make it ideal for even the most sensitive skin, leaving your skin soft and perfectly cleansed."

I know there are mixed reviews on the idea of cleansing waters and I'll be honest here, I didn't think they would be any good. I mean, seriously...just using water to wash your face, how is that going to remove all the make up and dirt? But I quickly discovered how wrong I was once I'd used the Caudalie Cleansing Water.

I'm so lazy when it comes to skincare. My main bad habit is not removing my make up before going to bed. (I know, Naughty me!) So this product is literally a saviour for me, its so quick and easy to use, you just pop some on a cotton pad and wipe over your skin. I keep it on my bedside table and use it on a night before bed. Then use my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish(Click For My Review) on a morning. However this cleanser works very well so there really is no need for any other type of cleanser, mine is just habit and I like a bit of variation in my routine.

The cleansing water, like most other Caudalie products contains Grape extracts, which not only makes the product smell gorgeously refreshing and fruity, but also is said to have powers of anti-ageing and anti-oxidising benefits for the skin. I have quite sensitive skin, and a lot of products tend to give me breakouts or irritate, but this has worked perfectly for me so far over the few weeks I've been using it.

Although the formula is soft and gentle, and has a soothing effect on the skin, it really does the job when it comes to make-up removal, layers of primers/foundation/powder can be removed with ease, admittedly it did use up a few cotton pads, but I'd much prefer this while sitting in bed watching TV to standing over the sink submerging my face in water late at night!

Overall, I highly recommend trying this cleanser, especially if you're a little on the lazy side like me!
You can purchase from Caudalie at £13.60(Including P&P) for the 200ml bottle.

Review| New CID Cosmetics i-Bronze Compact Bronzer - Rio

New CID Cosmetics i-bronze Compact Powder Bronzer Rio - £22.00*- Link

"The unique marbelised formulation means this bronzer has swirls of bronze, golds, pinks and chocolate browns to give the perfect colour for practically all skin tones."

Bronzers for me are one of the main items I use for my daily make up. I prefer to use a bronzer rather than blushers because my cheeks are naturally quite rosy anyway, so I'd rather not end up looking like a pink-cheeked ragdoll. I was sent this New CID Cosmetics i-bronze Compact Powder Bronzer to try out, & I instantly fell in love with it...

The bronzer first of all comes in its own individual cardboard packaging. It's then housed inside this practical and sturdy flip lid container, which even comes with its own large mirror on the inside of the lid.

You can't help but notice just how gorgeous the bronzer is, with its baked look and marbled swirl effect as soon as you open it up. I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for anything that looks good... If it looks pretty, it's mine :)

The bronzer is made up of a few different colours and shades, which makes it super versatile. You could use the pale pink shades for highlighting, the bronze and golds for bronzing, and the darker chocolate browns for contouring. Or, you can just get a large brush and swirl them altogether to get a beautiful sun kissed glow to your skin. So you're definitely getting your moneys worth out of this one!

The colours are well pigmented, so you do only need a little bit to get a lightly bronzed look if you're a light skin tone, but easily build-able for darker skin tones. So this really is made for everyone. I should also mention that unlike other bronzers I've tried, this powder has very powder fall out when applying, so no wasted product.

It is a little on the pricey side, but well worth it! If you're looking to invest in a good quality bronzer/contour/highlighter then I'd definitely recommend you give this pretty little thing a go. Its versatile and suitable for pretty much everyone.

You can purchase from New CID Cosmetics Website at £22.00 for 9g of product.

What's your favourite bronzer?

Review| New CID Cosmetics - i-Colour Long Wear Cream Eyeshadows

New CID Cosmetics i-color Long Wear Cream Eye shadows - £14.00 Each* - Link

"A long lasting, mousse textured, cream eye-shadow that is simple to blend and will not crease"

The New CID Cosmetics i-colour Long Wear Cream Eye Shadows come in a range of 8 shades which you can view HERE. I was sent 3 of the shades to try out, Chocolate Opal, Crystal Quartz and Twilight. I love the modern looking packaging, they each come in their own individual cardboard boxes, and are housed in transparent pots with white scew top lid with chrome labelling.

The eye shadows are a cream formula and have a whipped mousse texture to them. Which did make me doubt the claims of being long wear to begin with. However when I tried them, they lasted for around 5-6 hours before showing any signs of fading or creasing(and that's without using an eye primer).

The shadows are lightweight and apply smoothly to the lids. At first the colour is very sheer, which is best if you're going for a more natural look, but you can easily layer to build up colour intensity for a more dramatic eye look. I've found its better to just apply these shadows with my fingertip, because applying with a brush doesn't evenly distribute the product.

Chocolate Opal is a deep brown shade with a purple undertone shimmer to it. Perfect for creating a sultry smoky eye look.

Crystal Quartz is a vibrant shimmering yellow-gold shade, this is a very wearable colour, great for creating a natural "golden goddess" look.

Twilight is a frosty, silver shimmer shade. Ideal for these colder months and creating the perfect party look for the upcoming festive season.

These eye shadows are available to buy from CID Cosmetics Website at £14.00 each for 5g of product.

Have you tried these eye shadows, what do you think? Do you prefer cream or powder based shadows?

My Guest Post(Christmas Nail Tutorials) & Christmas Blog Design Update

Hello Girls!
So, its the 1st December, Christmas will soon be upon us! Did you open your advent calendars this morning? Unfortunately I didn't get one this year, getting too old apparently, booo! :(

I'm not one to usually get in the Christmas-sy mood, I'm quite the Scrooge if I'm honest. However when I had the opportunity to do a guest post for the lovely Evelyn from We Were Raised By Wolves, I thought what better post to write than one involving Christmas, and my favourite hobby...nail designs!?
I put together 5 little nail design tutorials in total, I'd love for you to give them a go :)

You can view them HERE, or by clicking on the image below.

Also, I've noticed a few bloggers have been making new headers/designs for their blogs ready for Christmas. I didn't want to be left out so I have updated my blog to give a bit more of a festive feel. What do you think of the new look? :)

Skincare | Liz Earle - Brightening Treatment Mask Review

Liz Earle Brightening Treatment Mask Review, beauty blogger, beauty blog, uk beauty blog, uk beauty blogger, skincare review, skincare, liz earle reviews, liz earle brightening treatment mask review,

You may have noticed how much I've been loving the Liz Earle skin care products lately, and here's yet another fab product that I'd like to share with you. I always see products claiming they have a fast action formula and are a quick-fix to your skin problems. More often than not, I end up being disappointed when they don't live up to such claims. However this treatment mask literally does what it says on the tin (or bottle in this case, haha).

This is applied very much like the Cleanse & Polish, where you massage one or two pumps of the product into your face and neck. I was amazed at how quickly the product sank into my skin. I then felt a slight tingling on my skin, which is usually a good sign and you know a product is working. This is probably what helps the skin to feel revitalised. You can leave the mask on between 30 seconds and 2 minutes before using the Muslin cloth to wipe away.

It's formula is thick and has a clay like texture. It has a herbal smell to it, which from experience I've found most of the Liz Earle products to have strong scents, so its nothing new. This one is actually quite fresh and invigorating. The mask is packed full of natural ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel, Sweet Almond Oil and White Clay which help to soothe, tone, moisturise, firm and stimulate the skin.

Even after just one use I noticed my skin looked instantly brighter, I have been using this every other day along with my cleanse and polish. I've noticed that my skin is looking much more healthy and radiant nowadays, which is especially important during these dull winter months. Perfect for those early Monday mornings when you're half asleep and could do with a bit of a wake up call after a fun packed weekend!!

You can even just buy a travel sized 15ml tube with muslin cloth to try out.

What's your quick fix morning wake up treatment?

Instagram Diary #2

Hello Girls!
Happy Monday!...Not. Ooooh how I'm wishing I didn't have to go to work soon.
Hope you all enjoyed the weekend anyway, did you get up to much?

I don't know about you, but I think the weather lately here in the UK absolutely sucks! It's a little depressing this time of year, I go to work in the dark, and then I go home in the dark, and then it rains all weekend so you can't do anything, other than shopping of course ;)

You may remember me saying that I would try to incorporate more life related posts into my blog, but as of yet, that hasn't happened... Mainly due to the fact that in all honesty, my life really isn't very interesting so there's not much to write about haha. I've still been using Instagram so that will have to do for now, sorry guys. Here's a quick round up of the pics I've taken over the past couple of months....

Liz Earle| Skin Repair Moisturiser Light - Combination/Oily

Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser Light - Comination/Oily - £18.75 - Link *

"Light and gentle, this easily absorbed moisturising lotion is ideal for combination, oily or problem skin"

You may have seen my review on the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser For Normal/Combination Skin. I really liked the moisturiser, but I found it a little too thick for my skin type. The wonderful girls at Liz Earle picked up on this in my review and sent this lighter version for me to try out. I have now managed to start using this as part of my every day skin-care because its much better suited for my skin.

As always from Liz Earle, the products are beautifully packaged, and this moisturiser comes in the typically coloured duck egg blue container. Unlike the previous moisturiser, this one comes in a pump bottle, which I prefer because its more hygienic and dispenses just the right amount of product needed.

This moisturiser is light and gentle, not as thick as the original moisturiser, which means it doesn't clog up my pores or increase oiliness. It's soft and silky formula absorbs quickly and easily into the skin. It has a lovely refreshing scent to it which instantly gives your skin a boost and leaves it feeling smooth with a healthy glow.

The moisturiser is packed full of naturally skin-conditioning ingredients including Borage Oil, Avocado Oil and Vitamin E. These all help to replace moisture lost from the skin and also protect the skin afterwards.

Overall I really like this moisturiser, although Id definitely consider it a higher end product due to the price tag. However it would be a great treat for yourself or as a gift to someone.

You can purchase from the Liz Earle website at £18.75 for the 50ml pump bottle - Link

New CID Cosmetics - i Polish; Raspberry Brulee, Bread & Butter Pudding, Summer Fruit Pudding

I was really excited when a parcel containing some New CID Cosmetics arrived on my doorstep a couple of weeks back. This is a brand I'm not very familiar with to be honest, but I've quickly grown to love. I think you all know by now how much I love my nail varnishes so these were the products I was dying to try out first! Today I've got some reviews and swatches on three of the shades from their i-Polish Light Up Nail Varnish Range.

The packaging is very basic but I love the sleek contemporary feel they have. The bottles are quite slimline and I like how the chrome lid has been styled to incorporate a bright LED light, which makes it much easier to see exactly where you're applying the polish to give you a neater finish. Each bottle is transparent so you can easily see the colour inside, there is a sticker on the bottom of the bottle with the names of each shade and stating the ingredients.

The applicator brushes are medium sized, and although I do prefer large flat brushes, these do make for quite easy application, and give an even coverage to the nails. Each shade is very sweetly named after all sorts of yummy desserts. As an added bonus, these polishes are free from three of the nasty ingredients usually found in more traditional nail varnishes; Formaldehyde, Toluene and Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP).

i-Polish Raspberry Brulee*
I think this has to be my favourite of the three shades I was sent. Raspberry Brulee is a pretty creamy looking medium pink shade. I managed to achieve a completely opaque finish with 2 coats.  This shade in particular seemed to dry with quite a glossy finish, so no need to add a top coat.

 i-Polish Bread & Butter Pudding*
I've been wearing this shade a lot since getting my hands on it, it's the perfect nude shade for the A/W months. Its a neutral brown/beige colour which would be ideal for work etc. Once again, this became opaque within 2 coats and dries with a fairly glossy finish to it.

i-Polish Summer Fruit Pudding*
(I must firstly apologise for the fact that the photo above with nail swatch does not truly represent the actual colour. You should look at the first picture of the bottle for a more accurate shade match. This always seems to happen when I'm swatching red polishes, any ideas?) But anyway, Summer Fruit Pudding is a deep ruby red shade with an iridescent glitter effect to it, which when teamed up with a good top coat provides an amazingly high shine finish. Perfect for the upcoming party season. This applied almost opaque with as little as one coat, but as habit, I always apply two anyway.

You can purchase from the New CID cosmetics website at £10 for 11ml.
There are a few other shades I've been eyeing up that I'd love to get my hands on!
